21 Rides in 2021... SOHC 4 bikes .
« on: January 01, 2021, 12:29:08 PM »
OKAY , so we start the 21 ride season,  much like the 20 ride contest, but only recording SOHC 4,s
Still 100 miles or plus, but there will be bonus for the hard ass high milers...TBA
One 100 miller a day ... unless you hit bonus high miles.
And don't forget midnight or moonlight rides .. I got 2 in one night between 9 pm and 5 am..
And we don't need Speedo pics, unless you really want to. We would rather see scenery, landmark,  or other interesting shots. . Honor system in place here..
Main objective Is to have fun, and experience how Awesome these bikes still are...

I failed in 2020 (as not enough minimum 100mls rides, even total was more than 2000).
Glad to join this challenge in 2021!

I wasn't able to join in at all, but if I'm able to get one of my 750s together I'll certainly be posting a ride or two.

There is no fails, if you rode at all , it was a plus....
If you worked on your bike a bit more it was a plus. ..
If you discovered that riding one of these , may be more reliable than you expected... that is the bonus..
And that and more was the point of it all..

I look forward to report my rides from last week of March if winter is gone then. We usually get good weather in that part of the year but winter can revisit delaying rides another 2 weeks.

I did frequent 130-140 miles rides last year on my K6. Just over 10.000km in total.
I solved ass and hip pain issues. Shocks too low, increased ride height solved it.
(+ Softer damping for ass only).

I did not have that pain in the 80's when doing much longer rides, 2 on bike so my weight today not involved.

Have you seen the weather reports from the West Coast Eric? Don't expect much from those folks right away. ;) Here in northern AZ, the snow has yet to melt from the storms last week....

Been kind of weird weather Scott, I agree. It does seem places south are getting more snow then us up here in Michigan. Maybe I can pick on the Florida guys a little  :D

Following.  We are snowed in - on the Virginia level of course.

How about sidecar bonus, Frank?

Not sure what you are thinking ?

100 miles with sidecar is more taxing than 100 miles solo.

Just saying, never mind me  ;D

It will be a while before I get back on the road. Not only is the winter weather here, but I am waiting for a passel of parts for my CB: new tires, front and rear brakes, sprockets, springs. I’m adding the rack for some overnight rides this year and I need to look closer at the waterproof bags.

Let me open the season for you, Frank  ;D

Today 123 miles.   The primary goal was to get to Stephen City hardware store.   There were rumors that they have ammo and primers.  Sure enough, I was able to purchase several hundred large magnum pistol primers for ok price.  After that I hit Costco in Winchester to get wine and food for dinner I am cooking tonight.  On the way home  I explored new to me road between 50 and 55 that follows Shenandoah river. Overall, great day.

100 miles exactly today. (had to circle a couple extra blocks to get that last mile...)

Went with my neighbor who rode his 1996 Nighhawk 750.

That's the Bandera County Courthouse.

Great day!

119 today. Did a big figure 8 south to Castroville, through Mico, Quihi, Bear Creek, Medina Lake, Pipe Creek & back to SA. Picked a spot overlooking Medina Lake for a pic.

Cheers!

Rolled over 250,000 miles on my other hobby this weekend, too.

114 miles today in the Texas Hill Country. Mid-60's and clear blue skies as far as you could see.

Bandera (Stopped at Old Spanish Trail Restaurant for breakfast), then Tarpley (pic), Hondo, Dunlay, Castroville, Quihi & home.

Love this photo Greg- reminds me of the movie High Plains Drifter. How did the bike deal with the sandy road?

Thanks Andy.  The road wasn't as loose as it might look.  It is a typical desert dirt road that turns to slippery muck when wet, then dries out to a hard pan until it finally turns into the consistency of talcum powder when it really gets dry.  It was pretty good that day so I went on it a little bit off the main road to get the pic.

Trip #2:

I went to Frederick to motorcycle swap meet yesterday.  My count says 144  miles.  I scored luggage carrier for $5 that I might be able to adapt for CB900C.  There was an old guy with fully Edward Morris restored 1976 CB750, but most of the stuff was Harleys.
