Terry, that is a nice looking 750A, and that ride counts for plenty. You get the wind in your face, You get the roar in your ear. That’s worth something!

Thanks Kevin, hopefully by the end of October the lockdowns will be history, and I can do some long rides again. I need to jump thru some hoops before I can legally ride the Auto, but it should be good fun, in a weird kind of way. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I wandered up a little dirt track towards the boat launch on Gosling lake. Nobody no nothing there. I parked my CB in the lane and snapped a nice photo. Fall colors just beginning here.

Though I've been riding an F all these years, the photo of your bike on the dirt road reminds me of what drew me to the CB750 so many years ago.

I have been down the D32 through Hell hundreds of times, but yesterday was the first time venturing up the launch access path. Going up the path, I had to stop and clear a couple of small trees that had blown down, right where the bike is parked. There were some puddles and slick mud to avoid… a slick mud dump cost me a front fender when the bike was brand new. I went on carefully to the end of the path, but came back for the photo.
My Honda has taken me so many places that I wouldn’t have been otherwise.

I snuck out around 1:00 pm and did and did an 85 miler yesterday Kevin. I kind thought you would be out since we finally had a descent day here is soggy Michigan. Very light traffic on my country roads today which was great. Some underbrush around the swampy areas is turning colors and an occasional tree here and there but will get better soon if it doesn't rain some more  ::)

Terry, it’s no fun being out of the game, I know the feeling, and I should point out that we here at 42 degrees north are about to enter a 5 or 6 month hiatus from motorcycling. Yesterday’s weather forecast was for a foot of snow over wide areas of the west…. likely slowing Ofreen, hope it’s not coming here. I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing about your travels. :)
I checked in on the 20/100/2020 thread and noted I got 4 rides in after October 1, 2020. I’ll need all of them to make 21 this year.
Eric, I also heard the local weatherman say that yesterday was a record here setter for October 11.
(High temp + low temp)/2 for the warmest ever October 11th. An excellent day for motorcycling.

1-2 weeks left unless rain will come.
Last long ride last year for me was Oct 17, a short rainy ride 1 week later to a Dyno to verify adjustments.
2019,  October 27.

So hopefully 2 weeks more here.

Ride 19 104 miles 47 mpg 75f

The sun is shining today, 3 days of rain ahead, and I’m just a tiny bit conflicted: mow the lawn or ride the Honda.
Easy to answer, so I’m down the road. Lots of green here still. Some of my trees are dropping, the leaves in this river view are not yet coloring up, but are far from green.
Honda is running good. I turned 94000 today. Greg, have you had any offers on your 750F at $165000?
Mine would be a bargain at $94000.

Well, this is Frank’s thread, his creation, a challenge made for the purpose of getting us out on the road and now I’m on a mission to complete his mission. Two more rides to finish 21/100/2021. Must do. Wishin I could have finished earlier….

Frank sent his 754 tappet cover wrench for my contribution to last years 20/100/2020 thread. I got an engraver to mark it with something appropriate, but I will have to rethink that. I told him it would be a treasured keepsake and he liked that.

Scottly, thank you for introducing me to this song:
Sorry, this version is very dark, candles and pump organ, but that’s how I’m feeling today.

Well, this is Frank’s thread, his creation, a challenge made for the purpose of getting us out on the road ...

Frank liked riding the wide open spaces, so yesterday's 133 miles were chosen with him in mind.  Went on back roads in Canyon and Owyhee Counties to a nice desert road right around the Oregon line.

Beautiful pics Greg, I'm looking forwards to getting out and doing another ride once we're out of lockdown (78 days straight locked down here) although I need to get some miles under my non-SOHC4's too.

Frank started the thread last year as a new years resolution to get out there and get more rides in, and I'd like to see this thread run every year, but as it was Frank's idea, I think it'd be good if we have an annual "Frank's/754 Memorial Ride" thread every year.

22 rides next year, 23 the year after, and so on, and so forth. Luckily for me I'll be retiring in 3 and a bit years, so as the amount of rides goes up by one every year, I'll have more time on my hands to do them. I hope all the regular participants here will join in. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yes I think it is. I get that thought now and then, continue to drive south.

Maybe my old memories of  old bike trips  2500km away to Austria, former Jugoslavia, Italy, France and Spain over Andorra helps ;)
I remember the nice feeling when started, bike in good shape, travellers cheques, passport, bags, rack and tank bag fitted. Then rode until I became too sleepy.

I understand retired people in their camper vans, rolling hotel rooms ;)

Ride #20 152 miles 48 mpg

Yes Eric, the weatherman told me that today would be the best day of the week so I took advantage. The thermometer said 40f early this morning, brrrrrr, so I zipped my jacket lining in, zipped all the vents closed, got my gauntlet gloves out, then waited a bit till it said 52f and climbing, about 11.
I went back to Jackson, had lunch at the former MCRR freight depot. It is an 1870 building repurposed into a fast food restaurant. The food is nothing special: farm-to-table burger fries coke, but it’s better than the Wendy’s that used to be in the same building. Then I headed straight for Seymour road. A helmet tapping rider passed in the opposite direction and sure enough you know who was waiting a little beyond in the shadows. Later, on Huron River drive I was reviewing in my head, a previous motorcycle-deer encounter. I came around the bend and guess who was standing still right in the middle of the road. I braked sharply expecting the deer-in-the-headlights response, then it scampered away quickly.
Somebody is watching out for me today, thank you very much.
Home safe, one more ride to go for 21, but facing future non-motorcycling weather.
Goodtryer, I’ve been looking for your #20 and #21
Ofreen I like your photos, how much of your recent ride was off pavement?
Terry, think I read you’re about to get some extended rides in.
I haven’t yet seen an obituary for Frank and he was pretty quiet about his own problems. But he did mention recently that it had been a year since his last motorcycle ride.

I'm still here, Kevin. Just had a couple of travel weekends where I couldn't get out on the bike. I'm itching to get the last 2 rides in (hopefully even more). Don't want to get this close and not complete the circuit. Weather is perfect here at the moment, mid-70's, no breeze, and clear skies.

Great that you're right there, too!

Cheers

My blue K6 got a ride in time before winter and write about it in Franks thread I hope will continue.

I have just assembled another setup, 970cc and a matching head to be tested.  Easy to work with engine thanks to Frank's frame kit. ;)

Runs fine, no pinging in the pinging area after 5000rpm. New pistons so max 6000 rpm, mostly around 4000-5000rpm (almost legal). Tacho could not hold it, I saw a quick visit to 7000!

128km done!
I had to do a ride while weather is OK with no rain.
Nice country roads to Färna 55 km away for lunch.

I'll hopefully get another ride when sun is shining within a week.

Well technically your ride doesn't qualify for this thread Per, being short of Frank's mandated 100 mile minimum, but good to see that you're getting a ride in before your winter hibernation. Good to see you've got your 970 engine together too, I'll be interested to see what other bits you've installed with it. Are you going to get it Dyno'd? It looks great! ;D

It looks great! ;D
Yes, the distance was a little short (~30km) but I had to go back to work and wanted to honor Frank while still possible. The weather might stop more rides this year. If weather will be OK coming week a +200km trip to compensate ;)

Almost same bits except for pistons, cylinder and head. Now 70mm pistons, before 71.25mm.
Cam 125-75.
I hope it will reach 100whp as before with another head (101whp with 300 head F2 34mm/K 28mm valves), now ported 392 head 33.5/28.5mm valves, probably a few hp less on same Dyno with operator.
Need more cruising before full run on Dyno.
Photos in my K6 project thread.

I forgot to say that I liked the look of that Kebab plate Per, now that we're "Free"(ish) again here in "Lockdown Central", I'm gonna have to find a nice Kebab shop and get myself a lamb kebab tomorrow, my favourite. ;D

That's the cheap and tasty food available almost everywhere here in Sweden today.
Meatballs and potato is history :(

Hot sandwhich was the thing 40 years ago except for burgers. Could be burger, ham with friends on a thick sandwhich topped with plenty of cheese and grilled in an oven.

Cheap tasty food a part of a nice ride.
What food depends on where you live and you ride.

Blue sky and sunshine outside right now, +3.2C and increasing. 8-9 degrees more and the bike will make a proper 100 mile ride! ;D
