Thanks David, I forgot to mention I had a race with a young "Biker Wannabe" this morning on some Kawasaki cruiser thing for a mile or so until we got to the first fast sweeper, when he sh1t himself and almost wobbled into the dirt on the side of the road, and I think he was happy that I passed him so he could slow down again......

I guess it has no points either which are trickier to adjust for best power when 1-4 and 2-3 are equally set.

Thanks Per, yep, CB77 pistons in stock 61mm bores, but heaps of compression, so with the freer flowing K&N filter, 120 mains and needles raised one notch, Delkevic 4 into 1, and the nice fat blue spark from the Kokusan ignition and Dyna coils it just rips, and the fuel economy is great too.

I think I'll give my K2 a KN filter for stock airbox too. Always something to order

Ha ha, you're lucky that you've only got CB750's Per, with 20(+) bikes from 8 or 9 different manufacturers I've got parts everywhere, and I'm still buying crap that I may, or may never need.......

I would like to have a copule of bikes more but I'm too late to the party. Z1-900 and CBX1000-79 are way too expensive. I should have had that in my mind earlier.
Back to bike happened 2012 when I had one waiting for restore that I finally started....

I should have got the idea for those bikes 2007, still not that expensive and an almost empty garage.

Yeah, over here Z1’s and CBX’s (the early twin shock ones, not so much the later ones) were always expensive, even when CB750’s were a dime a dozen (I bought 2 CB750’s in 1980 for $300, and all of Spotty’s CB750 collection in the 90’s for $1200) Z1-s were still hovering at close to $2K, as were earlier CBX’s, not that I was ever really interested in buying a CBX.

I’m building my Z1-B from parts, an Aussie import frame and building an engine from a set of cases I imported from the US in the correct number range for my frame, but full of go-fast goodies. There are still quite a lot of high performance Z1 engine parts on Ebay as all the old drag racers empty out their shops, now that the Hayabusa is the drag racers go to bike.

When I get a chance over my Christmas holidays I’ll have to finish putting it together as all the Z1 50th anniversary celebrations are kicking off early next year.

Yep I’m going to a “Stone” run in March and a show (not sure where yet) so far, and there will be a Kawasaki function as well, plus a club run, so should be good.

Originally the idea was to take the 750 for a ride today to warm up the oil for a change but it was in the low 50s and pleasant so we kept going for 117 miles.  Pretty nice for December 1 around here.  By the time I got back I was feeling too lazy to do the oil change, so will have to take another ride in the next couple of days.

Thanks and that was a great pic of your K0 a couple of days ago.  The bridge is interesting, one of these days I'll find someone who knows the history of it.

Nah, construction too lightweight. Traffic years ago was likely very light and it wasn't uncommon to see these kinds of bridges. There were many like them where I grew up. Most have been abandoned and destroyed now...
One lane bridges were common in rural areas in America during early last century, many remain in Eastern area of country in less populated areas.

We have a bridge like this over in Czech Republic. 

The bottom one was built for an interstate in thirties but the interstate construction was interupted by WW2 - and the top one was buult in 70/80.  The specs for express ways changed.

Well I had a lazy day yesterday after running around for the last week preparing for Christmas but today I promised myself that I'd get off my butt and go for a ride. It was another beautiful day here, unseasonably cool at only around 70 degrees when it's usually in the 90's, but that's fine, I drove over to my storage unit and pulled the K0 out for ride #31, or thereabouts.

I did another trouble free 130 miles on the old rocket and had to take time to chat with the old farts who stopped me at the gas station and then again at the Heathcote Bakery to tell me that they "Had one just like it" back in the day. I was playing boy racer today so had to switch to reserve after only 128 miles, but resisted the temptation to fill it up on my way back to the storage unit, as I want to have fresh fuel in it whenever I ride it, and who knows when I'll ride it next? Hopefully soon.

Ride 22 - December 26 - 109 miles

Beautiful day, a little hot & humid, 80 degrees. Definitely not a white Christmas around here.

Neighbor called & wanted to ride; who am I to say no. Went on our usual Bandera loop. Had lunch in Bandera, the place was packed. Not that many bike out; I think we saw only 2 others but the day was great. Went over 27,700 on the odometer so it's time for an oil & filter change.

As much as I'd like to Alan, I'll be celebrating New Years Eve at home with the wife, so it won't be me. I did blow up the gearbox on my K2 bitsa on New years Eve 2019 though, so I thought I might take it for it's last 100 miler for 2021 during the day on New Years Eve, but that was until I saw the forecast is for 100 deg F, so way too hot for me and my poor old bike.

I think it should be one of the 3(?) who actually did 21 rides in 2021 Alan. I am wondering about it being restricted to just SOHC4's though? I know that was Frank's thing, but Frank only owned one running bike, (until it crapped out) and it was a SOHC4.

The spirit of the thread was about guys getting off their butts and getting the wind in their face (I was gonna say "Hair" but a lot of the members here only have hair where they don't want it nowadays) and owning as many bikes as I do, I'd like to ride more than just my CB750's in 2022.

There are plenty of other guys here who own other bikes, and while we all love our SOHC4's, we like to ride all our bikes, and yack about it. I've just about finished two old Suzuki 2 strokes, and am about to re-start my paused Kawasaki Z1-B project, and as soon as I can legally ride them, I'm gonna want to ride the wheels off them as well, especially the Kawasaki, as it's the 50th anniversary of the Z1 in 2022, and there'll be lots of interesting rides and shows to attend, all over the world. Eric owns a Z1-B and so does Stev-o, Steve in Hawaii has a very rare 1972 Z1, and Kelly E has a Z1-A, from memory? 

Sure, I can ride my other bikes and just not post in the "22 rides" thread, but every 100(+) miler I do on them is one I won't be doing on a CB750, which might mean that I don't get the 22 rides done, which would be a shame. I still have a job until I retire in 2025, so I'm also limited to only riding on weekends, annual leave and public holidays, which means I can't just take off and do a ride whenever I want to.... yet.

Anyway that's what I'd like to do, but I'll bow to the wishes of the other "21 Club" guys, and if you only want to see pics of the same bikes doing 100+ mile rides again in 2022 in this thread, then so be it.

Here (lat 60* north) always frozen since 1 1/2 month and will continue for another 3 months or even more

I look forward to new rides on nice country roads testing new cheap restaurants/cafes, burger/kebab/pizza joints in smaller towns, villages.

100 miles can be a slog if you are in a congested area... 75 miles isn't bad but to do 100 it often takes me 3-4 hours depending upon where I am heading. 30 miles to the far side (E respective me as I live on the far NW side out in the desert) takes an hour and that is with 9 miles of 65mph I10 and a faster artery that has speeds of 40 instead of the 35 typical of more congested roads.
100 miles of freeway ain't what this is about either...
Otherwise a 90 mile scoot up I10 has me in south side of Phoenix...and is less than 90 minutes because of interstate speeds being 75 mph 90% of the way there.
For me it is going to be at least 3 hours on the bike to put in 100 miles.

I try to avoid much of Tucson, it is a dangerous place to drive much less ride.

For me, my participation here in this thread dovetails with my usual rides, spring summer fall. There is snow on the ground here now, and plenty cold. When our street was repaired the workmanship was less than preferred and there is a puddle/ice patch at the first corner leaving home, and Lord knows what other hazards elsewhere. It won’t be me doing the NewYearsEve ride.
 West out of town riding is better the further I go. You have seen my routes and my CB 27 times last year, 21 times this year and it will be more of the same for 2022, overexposed? Probably. I’m not a bike builder or collector like many of you, I’m a rider, who likes some smooth asphalt with nice bends and scenery. The new Jan 22 RoadRunner mag has its monthly Shamrock tour centered at Ann Arbor, a series of loops doing much the same as we do here. I’m very interested to see the article, the rides, the photos. A very nice mag but I dropped my subscription after I figured out I wasn’t going to do the dream rides on the dream bikes.

 I think I showed you all the tappet wrench that Frank sent me for being first in at 20 for 2021, a fitting award. I think that the challenge award isn’t a trophy for first or most, but a merit, due to any and all who complete the challenge. But hey, this isn’t my thread, it’s Franks. Aside from the challenge, it’s been like a logbook for me, documenting where, when I have been.
 Wish I was better with this device and I might whip up an inexpensive patch/pin/sticker of some sort that reflected Franks challenge 21x100x2021 SOHC4 for participants and achievers.

I enjoy others trips documented by photos and a meal.
Local tasty stuff is very interesting.

This fits a bike ride very well!
Many of my rides includes to eat something tasty at a cheap restaurant riding mostly on nice and beautiful roads. Minimum of boring straight highway like roads.

All these stars can be transformed to cover your favourite bike as well!!

Hell yeah. 100 miles is a lot.  Thats why we used to play the Photo Scavenger Hunt, but that thread is dead in water for a long time now.

I agree. There were times that it was a slog to get to 100. The point is
to get out and have fun. Not trying to hit some official number that takes the joy out
of the ride. Same thing with the non-SOHC bikes. Plenty of people have other bikes. It’s not apostasy to post about it.

I look at this as a thread to document the longer rides and I like the little challenge of reaching a particular number. This thread for the last 2 years inspired me to ride these bikes more than I ever have in the past. I never rode as a daily driver. Went a couple of decades with no bikes at all.
