1975 CB750F Wire Harness
« on: February 20, 2007, 10:51:58 AM »
Hello,

I'm in need of a NEW Wire Harness for my 1975 CB750F...

I'd like to start with new wires...it appears my old one has to many issues that may cause problems down the road.
Does any one know of an online store that carrys New Harnesses.

I went to PartsNMore...but they carry a Harness for a 1975 CB750K model...Is a K and F model interchangable..or are they different.

I have a Clymers manual..but have been told that the diagrams in there are not accurate..any one have a PDF file of a Accurate Diagram they could send me. I'm having a hard time figuring out what wire are Grounded to the frame.

Thanks
Mike

Try David Silver Spares as I know they sell wiring harnesses for the K....maybe for the F?

cheers
Andy

Remove your harness, get a large piece of cardboard, lay it out and label everything. Go buy stock colored wires and go to town. Measure, solder, heatshrink then tape it up for a factory look.

Good luck finding a NOS harness. Damn near non existent if not extinct. Easier to find a NOS tank or seat if that tells you what difficulty you face (just found them too). Nobody makes it. It was only used on bikes for 1 & 1/2 years (75 & 76). I found a NOS one for my 75 750F about 6 months ago on EBay. I wanted it bad enough to plop down $150+ for it. It only hurt briefly but I got it. If you see a harness listed be sure to have the seller look at the code on the tag near the center. It should say 392. Don't take anything else. How I managed to find mine was by part number. I did a favorite search by part number, waited and damned if it didn't pop up one day! Good chance you may have to overhaul yours. New connectors and kits are readily available. I found a used one first which I'm still running but it was better than my original. And to answer your next question - NO  ;D

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I have a manual which has a wiring diagram in it - I will try and scan it and put it up here for you..later tonight (about9-10 hours)

try and fix it - it is not that hard- and then you have a harness you know and love - or hate...

An unmolested and complete main harness for $150 isn't bad, not an easy item to find. At one time I would take a hundred american for one. But I don't think so anymore. I'll keep mine as spares.

I feel you pain on having a butchered harness, all too common. That's one of the main reasons that I started restoring/making my own on my bikes.

That and having a blinker on the same fuse as my IGN, not too bright. LOL

I might build a few for the 750s is there is any interest?
