CB500 front wheel bearing extraction
« on: January 12, 2021, 08:40:09 AM »
Hello all,
I am working on a CB500 and have the front wheel apart and want to replace the wheel bearings. Does anyone know a way to extract the old bearings without spending bukoo bucks on special tools? If I have to, I'd rather pay someone else to do it than wreck something.

solid rod in through the centre of one bearing and force it sideways to move the centre sleeve then beat the bearing out, once out you can straighten the ears on the centre sleeve to reuse it.

Because you have to hammer on the centre race to get the bearing out is why I never reuse/regrease a bearing

I got the retainer off. Was able to knock the old bearings out using Brian's method. Now to get OEM bearings, seal, o ring from Tousley Sports.. Thanks!

You dont need oem, they only have 1 seal. Fit 2rs brgs and you will get them a lot cheaper generic
