Carb Switch
« on: July 31, 2021, 10:29:39 AM »
I have completed a frame up restoration on a 1976 CB750A - But no matter what I do the carbs are an issue.  I am done!  So here is the question - I would like to put on a set of carbs that have the screw tops from an older 750.  Has anyone done this with success and what year carbs would work?
Look forward to hearing back.

I've always read that any of the carbs from the SOHC 750 models will work on any other 750 model, jetting changes may be required though and you'll have to use the appropriate carb rubbers for the carbs you use.

There are advantages and disadvantages regardless of combination, or we'd all be using the one perfect setup.

please go to the performance heading on this page. there are several write ups on swapping round tops on a matic. real quick you will need round top carbs round top insulaters to mount on intake, you will need the rubber boots that fit in stock air box ,and you will need the throttle cables from the k model 750.now it all fits but is very tight.you should notice a definate improvement.i did the swap several years ago and it was worth it
don't buy it build it
