Just picked up this 74' Honda CB550 and while the test ride sold me on the bike the ride home ended with me leaving it at the Honda dealer for repair.

^^ Appreciate the welcome. I have a 70' CB100 as well so just need to sort this one and look for the other CC bikes.

Welcome aboard from Oceanside winters(usually but temporarily in NV at this point)
I have a friend in Mira Mesa that has(had?) one similar to yours, a 74.

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Thank you. When I get this one sorted and your back in town hit me up and will go for a ride.

The guy I bought it from was in Poway named Bob. He bought it from the original owner in Lancaster. This one has 12,242mi claimed anyway. The mileage may or may not answer if it could have been your friends in Mira Mesa.

Most likely not my friend's bike. I don't think he sold it.
