I remember when i was a kid and they sold 'half-links' for mini-bikes,and found out later they sold them for motorcycles.I haven't heard anything about it lately, although I'm familiar with the Grainger company 'back in the day' and they advertised them regularly in their catalog for slow speed,Industrial drive chains..
I have installed a different, longer swingarm from another model and would like to shorten the chain just one link if possible:it's an RK drive chain.

I have used half links on my snowbike, I purchased mine at a tractor store. a New Holland Tractor store . I suppose that any  tractor supply would have one.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

Half-links aren't as strong as normal links.
edit, Simon beat me to it. They are still available as far as I know.

They aren't very good things, but I have run one on a trials bike before, though it wasn't exactly stressed on that.  If you are still keen on one you might have more success searching for "cranked" link, as that's the other name for them.

Late 70s Triumph Bonnevilles used a 530 chain with a half link.  You should be able to find them at any British motorcycle parts places.  The issue is you end up with essentially 2 master links: One to connect the half link to the chain and another removable pin to connect the other side.  A 750 Bonneville has about the same acceleration as a CB750 until you get over 75-80 mph.

I'm pretty sure I have one in my garage. It came packaged with a master link.

A chain and sprocket set have a limited life, usually 10k to 15k depending on how hard you are on it. A new set may take up the slack you have.

And always change chain and sprockets together. They wear at the same rate, and if you do one without the other, you'll be lucky to get 1k out of it.
Go metric, every inch of the way!
