I admire the systematic photographic journal of this build.

Thanks guys.  What I didn’t realise when starting this project is that it very difficult if not impossible to put a home build on the road in Spain.  I know it can be done in the UK, but I have discovered that General Franco I believe banned all imports of Jap bikes, so buying a CB750 in Spain that’s matriculated for the road is very expensive.
I have no papers for this bike just frame and engine numbers.
Normally to import a bike to Spain and put it on Spanish plates, requires the bike to be in standard condition.
I will build it anyway, and cross that bridge when it’s finished😀
Ive been making those d washers for the top triple tree today

Do they remember how stock should look like unless you do not change it a lot looking very special?

People at vehicle inspection here in Sweden have no clue about dual brakes at front on CB750 K0-K6. Stock only 1 as 1 example.

If all road safety details look as a possible std bike, it can pass.

Or if they will ask for owners manual.

It won’t look standard PEWe, but that link Alan F gives me some hope. I knew that there were Cafe’d bikes in Spain, so I do think that it will be possible.  That link is very much appreciated.
After all the time working on bits overseas, I started the assembly a week or so ago.
Fitting the tyres to the wheels first.  I bought 18” front and back rims from Italy. 2.15 front and 2.50 rear.
I paid for the wheels to be laced at Central Wheel Company in the UK using stainless spokes.
I have just installed Bridgestone BT45’s. 100-90-18 and 120-80-18
You can see the spacer I’ve use on the front wheel, instead of the speedo drive

Some of the parts for installation.
The original sprockets had no wear on them, at least not visible. So I zinc plated them. I wasn’t sure about the possibility of Hydrogen embrittlement, so I cooked them in my oven for a few hours, straight after plating
I also installed replacement shock bushes in the swinging arm and phosphor bronze bushes

Need to put D washers in here. So I torqued to 10nm and measured the gap on both sides at 2.27mm.
So made them at 2.3mm and installed them

NGK Iridium plugs. Gapped at 0.7mm. Used nickel anti seize and a piece of fuel tubing to install and prevent cross threading
Tacho drive is blanked off

It is interesting reading the 550 build by tshrey.  I also have removed my starter, only to discover that the kick start lever hits the RH footrest and brake lever.
I heated the kickstart lever and bent it to clear the footrest, but at the moment it doesn’t clear the brake peg unless I unhook the cable.
So I’m still undecided, and may re-install the starter motor.  However, I spent ages making my own wiring loom (I’m not an electrician) from scratch and didn’t incorporate wiring for the starter.
I’m also not sure if I weakened the kickstart during the reshaping effort.
Don’t really want it to shear off and go through my calf muscle😂

I need to make some bobbins to lift the bike at the back with a paddock stand.
Drilling and tapping the swinging arm for this.

This bike is looking awesome!  Great parts choices!  Where did you get that fork brace?

So is it common running 550 calipers on 750 fork lowers? If so...I would love to do that so I can work the bolts from the front rather than the back of them.
Fastec fork brace, never heard of them but I LOVE how they look and they are not that expensive....about 150usd i think....

Shtone, 750F0/F1 and K7/8 use those calipers they look the same as 550 but do not inter-change...550 caliper must be used with 550 bracket which must be used with smaller 550 rotor
If it works good, it looks good...
