Squirley CB750 build: Another one!
« on: January 20, 2021, 11:25:24 AM »
Hello all, figured I would start posting some pics of the new project.
1977 CB750, changing over to a monoshock and hopefully some high pipes.  Probably another slow build but hope it's of some interest!

Those gas tanks from the liquid cooled Thruxtons have great lines.  I think this is the first time I've seen one used on a Honda.

Thanks Wolf, once I started doing carbon, it's tough to go back.

Racer Fan, the tank is from a Thruxton, used one on my last 550 build and really like them for a non "custom" tank

Wolf, there's no build thread on the 550 above, just completed it a few months back.
Are you talking about the swingarm? If so, it is a stock 550 that I bent some tube for to create the monoshock attachment.  Can take some better pics if you'd like. Its the same thing I did for the 750 above too.

all the stuff that goes into that swingarm (hub, disk and caliper stuff)
I am going to be doing a front wheel hub in the back for the rear for (rear disk conversion) and getting ideas for the caliper stuff I will need to make it happen.

Please accept the messy garage and bad pics.  Here's a few showing the progress on the frame change.  I always put in removable clamps to remove the head but on this one I also bent up some tube and replaced the factory frame upright into a more eye appeasing bend and tied it into the upper shock mount.
Also, made a little progress on the high pipes.  More of a mockup for now as I try and digest whether I like it or not...

Great header and the frame mods are both beautiful and function-forward.
