Just had a good friend in Mexico contract Covid and was on ventilator for past two days. She died a few hours ago. Chris was in good health and in her early 70s.

I doubt seriously that anyone in any western country would be frightened to go to hospital for fear of being killed on purpose by the medical staff. That sounds a lot more like a conspiracy theory to me.

No, you quoted a news story that I wasn't aware of, not the one that I saw. I'm on holidays and looking forward to riding my bikes today, so I'm definitely not going to spend any time looking for a link for you, but if you want to trawl thru episodes of "China in focus" then go for it, you'll find it eventually.

I got vaccine happy last year and this year, I'm good for pneumonia, Tetanus, diptheria, shingles, then the 2 new shingles, flu, and the two covid with a boo5ter.
Still kicking and hoping to do some go fast 5hit on a sohc4 before I turn 70 next year.

Got my booster shot today. I was sitting at my computer this morning reading forum stuff when I got a call from my GP. (My six month shot was due 21/1 but our gubberment has encouraged a five month gap for booster which worked out 21/12) Anyhoo I was told I copuld have my shot at 1.15 today. I said you betcha and was at their door on time. Twenty minutes later I'm on my way home. That was three hours ago and, so far, no problems evident. BTW first two shots were Oxford - AstraZenica and the third was Pfizer.
I'm hoping northern hemisphere countries can get on top of this virus so I can travel again, with confidence.
Up until two days ago I did not know anyone who has been infected, much less anyone dying from COVID. I've now found out that my cousin's wife, (they live in London), has passed due to COVID complications while in hospital being treated for a brain tumour. I don't know anymore than that at this stage. Bugger.

I think too many believe the injections to be a real vaccine and do not take needed precausions. They get the Covid and spread it to others. Wrong type of generosity that will keep this to develop and never end until a real cure is available for us all.

Not odd, the Chinese are very protective over news reports that they allow to get out.

Not only there, "Conspiracy Theories" the new normal about cover ups and forbidden thoughts.
That will hopefully change so we can continue to work on our bikes, getting parts and ride them.
Lets hope the virus transmission will slow down more and more.

A doctor on TV today, said you're getting covid for Christmas. The question is, are you going to be vaccinated or unvaccinated. He is not the current President's doctor, he worked with the previous administration. Not trying to provoke a response or wanting replies, just reporting what I saw on TV.

Had my booster on Monday. They just started offering it to people under 50 (I'm 44). It was pfizer and all I had was a bit of fatigue the fist evening. Fine after that.

My Ma (93) was told that one of her old school friends, who's also my godmother (94) who's in a nursing home with a little bit of dementia, had Covid. My Ma (who still lives at home) rang the nursing home to ask how she was. She was surprised when her friend answered the phone, and sounded fine. Turns out that just about every resident in that nursing home has covid, but no-one's particularly ill because they've all had their jabs and booster shots, so the staff aren't telling them when they test positive, so as not to frighten them, they're just telling their families to warn them. Much better than last year when 800 unvaccinated oldies in 3 nursing homes here died from Covid. I guess the vaccine works.
