 We both got the two moderna shots, so we're not concerned with us. My grandkids have been in school for a week and the almost 5 year old Grandson has come home with a temperature and red cheeks. He may need to come here tomorrow so his Mom can go to work. 
 You can guess what's going through our minds.  His Mom is beating herself up already for sending him this year.

 Edit, he popped out of bed like toast out of a toaster, no fever, feels fine. Now my other grandson has caught something.  Vaccination rate is under 50% around here. I'm disappointed, it puts these kids at more risk.

  I predicted this school business will get out of hand. We will watch them if needed.

My 12yo son really needs to be in school. He's been vaccinated. He didn't do very well with the online classes. I have to hope for the best at this point.
I have stage 4 prostate cancer and I don't need him bringing the crap home but he needs to be in school.

Thanks buddy, I have been hanging in there since 2015. I just recently had to go on Zatiga since my psa started to go up but it's back down now. I'm still really active, currently in the middle of stacking 6 cords of firewood with 2 more cords coming. As the saying goes "I ain't dead yet".

 I got incorrect info, the Cancer survivor girl was exposed but she did not have the positive test. Hopefully she will quarantine with no symptoms. Still not good but somewhat of a relief.
  My Daughter can work from home until they are all clear. So much for the Saturday birthday party, that boy missed one already.

 I lost another unvaccinated friend to covid last week. He had just posted a video saying "I'm back #$%*es" he was off the ventilator  and believed he was getting better. The track photographer at Cordova, one of the nicest folks you would ever meet.
 Today I got a Tetanus, Shingles and flu shot. Both arms are a little sore but so far no side effects from the covid shots except the same sore arm.
  edit. I raked a couple hundred pounds of walnuts and drank a beer. My arms are sore and I want a nap.

I've had my Moderna 2-shot vaccine back in Mar. 2021'.
Well,2 weeks ago I called and asked about getting the Moderna Booster shot.The pharmacy I had the original vaccine shots done said "we have a bit extra at the end of today,show-up before 7:30PM,we'll administer the Booster".
I thought Yeah ! I'm not imuno-compromised but thought 'better safe than sorry' so I got my Booster.
I was a bit tired for 24hrs. and after that felt good.

Moderna has not released a booster to the public as it has not been approved by the CDC. They may have given you another dose of Moderna but they do not really have the clearance to do so. Nothing has shown that it is needed nearly as much as the Pfizer does since its effectiveness wanes after 6-8 months.

Got a moderna a few weeks ago, reluctantly. Felt a little weird the next day driving to a bike show.....it passed.
     11 year old grandson in Co. tested positive last week. Everyday he was home, he played outside.
His younger sister tested positive 4 days ago, ran a fever to 104 a little while, then gone. As of a 2 days ago she's sitting up watching tv with the older brother........one more brother to go......yeah, concern is still there in the back of your mind, of course...
      Father is a Physician Assistant, leans toward wanting them to get it, and be done with it. He's not an anti-vaccer, but has not seen the the reported hype generated by the press manifest itself in his practice......ever.....
       yeah, anecdotal.....but there it is.....

Bad and good news today in the NYT: Death toll in the USA reaches 700,000, more than the 1918-19 flu and despite wide availability of vaccines:

I guess the question is whether people who won't take the vaccine to prevent it would take the pill to cure it?

 Getting 3 other vaccines in a day may have been a small shock to the system. We went to bed early, my wife had chills and maybe a low grade fever later. I just needed a nap which isn't that unusual.
  I got the first version of the Shingles vaccine a couple years ago, too bad because I had the one shot vaccine before they decided this two dose one is better.  Not a big worry until you talk to someone that had shingles. He got the first vaccine even during shingles, his doctor said it would make his symptoms less and protect his eye which was in the outbreak area.

My sister had shingles and then got the two dose shot once she recovered. It was around the eyes too...
Not sure if she had the first Shingles shot. The new one is much better at preventing you from having a Shingles outbreak.

 My friend that was in icu for a couple weeks with covid early on said his lungs showed 3/4 white on the x ray. He was drinking mucinex by the glass full and had to cough up all that goo. He said it was like STP and would string between your fingers. W0W.  He got the vaccine too (since then), another friend thinks since he had it he's impervious now. He's going to Walgreens for an antibody test. $20.

I was surprised to see this since I was also under the impression that Pfizer was the only one approved so far. Yes,I called my pharmacy who gave me the 3rd Moderna shot just to confirm that I did receive the Moderna Booster shot,just to double check.They confirmed that I Did receive it.I am not imuno-compromised but they were still able to get me in with it:they had some left at the end of their day and rather than throw it away,I benefited from that

Mexico City is reducing Covid restrictions and on Monday will be on the lowest level of alert (we use a stoplight system here, and Monday it turns green, as well as in the State of Mexico). Vaccination rates here for those 18 and older is over 90%, and while there still are some cases it has been effective at lowering hospitalizations and death. We haven't started vaccinating younger people yet.

There are some other places in the country at yellow, and Baja California remains at orange.

I'm hoping this situation lasts (and I'm going to Oaxaca in a couple weeks, and it's green there too).
