One thing now is when getting a normal cold/flu.
In my mind it can be Covid so  stay away from others. I wonder how long that will continue.
I do not see the vaccines as 100% protection not getting it. Increased chance to fight it.

Tests to verify Covid or not is not always right either.

Everytime the bad virus is transferred to another person it can upgrade itself.

Had my last Pfizer shot in may, got tested for covid in September and came out positive. very minor symptoms. sore throat and sneezing were really mild. quarantined ten days was the hard part. highly recommend the vaccine!

I'm hoping this situation lasts (and I'm going to Oaxaca in a couple weeks, and it's green there too).

Good to hear.  We just booked flights to Playa Del Carmen in December.

I love Playa- haven’t been there for a while though. Actually they were building the new road last time we were there, maybe 10 years ago I guess.

Yeah, we love it too.  Our good friends have a gorgeous condo on the beach but havent been in two years due to the Covid.
The status of Quintana Roo is currently GREEN meaning low risk and we plan to get our booster beforehand

Definitely look up other precautions before you go, as I believe the restrictions are on things like bar capacity and live music. Here in CDMX, people are still required to wear a mask to go shopping, etc. Stores won't let you in without one.

I got my Moderna booster on Friday at about 1:00 PM. I had some mild soreness in my shoulder later in the evening, just like the first two shots, but in the middle of the night my shoulder was really sore, making it hard to sleep, and I also had a headache and body aches. I felt a bit lousy all day Saturday, but nothing too bad, and today I'm feeling OK. To be honest, I'm surprised how strong of a reaction I had to the booster, which is 1/2 of the standard dose?

You're still in AZ? I'm headed that way in Jan and want to schedule a booster. Mexico just started boosters for people over 65 and I'm not there yet. Did you call a pharmacy to schedule?

Tucson Convention Center has a vaccine site setup with no appointments needed with all three vaccines commonly used available.

OK, thanks. I'll be in PHX but I am guessing there'll be easy to find info online.

My wife and I both had our Moderna boosters, no side effects for me, the wife just had a sore arm for a couple days.
Went to the local CVS drug store, pretty simple.

I didn't usually even get the flu shots, when I was working as a plumber I rarely ever caught anything. I think my immune system stayed turned on. This year I've had 7 vaccines, 3 covid, 2 shingles, Flu, Dtapp, or some combo of those letters, I already got the pneumonia vaccine last year.
Mostly sore arms, after getting the first shingles I got a sore throat and half of my scalp was tender for a day. I wondered if that simulated shingles to get an immune response.

I had about the same reaction to my recent booster. The reaction means it's working! :)
At the rate we're going I expect that we'll have to get a reformulated booster in a few months to account for omicron.

Got my Pfizer booster at 8:30AM Friday morning. Felt fine all day, even entertained friends that evening.
Went to bed and woke up less than an hour later with full body chills, sweats, aching, bad headache, fatigue and, surprisingly, horrible heartburn.
Spent most of the day Saturday feeling pretty crappy.

My arm is still sore and I have the tiniest of headaches still. Back to work and functioning normally, though.

When I received my pfizer booster, it was a similar experience, the next day was difficult. I was very tired and my arm was incredibility sore for the next 2 days.
Start with the end in mind...

People I know whom have had Pfizer shots or booster have had side effects beyond just sore arms. It must be more reactive for some reason. I have had Moderna with just sore arm for a side effect.

Antibodies have built up (and probably diminished somewhat already) from the first 2 shots. Your body is now in attack mode able to elicit a stronger response to what it interprets as an alien invasion.

Sorry to hear about side effects, but good to know. I have to fly to the UK in January, my mother has been in the hospital and is on oxygen and declining. I have been vaccinated here in Mexico City with AstraZeneca but the UK won't accept my Mexican vax card for some reason. Spend several mornings trying to get a straight answer from various departments and the embassy (I am a British citizen too) but to no avail. But I finally got an answer -- I'll have to quarantine for 10 days at my mom's place with two negative tests before I can come out.

I was planning on getting a booster before I go, but I don't want to feel 5hitty on the plane or take the risk of showing up with a high temp, so I'll wait until I Get back. Wouldn't made a difference anyway in terms of quratining over there -- shots have to be administered 14 days prior to arrival.

I've had three Pfizer shots, the third had a little more arm soreness which I attribute to the skill of the CVS med-tech.

How ever, the more intense your reaction the better you are protected because your immune system is responding to the vaccine as it would to the virus itself.  People like me, being treated for an autoimmune condition, see little response from our immune system.

I have no desire to test my immunity, so I wear a KN95 mask.  Thanks to all who do also.

I had the Pifizer booster several days ago, slightly sore shoulder, no other effects at all.  I have never had a reaction to any of the injections......I have spent the last 10 days with a Wife with Covid and I still feel fine.  Just FYI the Wife is feeling much better and had been vaccinated with the two Moderna injections but no booster before contracting the virus....

Hey Per...you're tough, you'll live!

Just heard that a good friend who has been a vaccine holdout, is getting the J+J tomorrow.
We were disappointed in them not getting it sooner but held back judgement.
Apparently, they wanted to book an anniversary trip to St Lucia but being unvaxed would have put them in quarantine the entire trip so they did not go.

Yes, covid shot is mandatory to get a life today. It would be better if they can provide a final cure that sometimes is discussed. I guess we'll need a refill every 6th month......

Update today 17 hours after:
My arm feels sore where she stabbed me. Maybe a little bit tired, more like an internal coolness. Work from home is really nice! ;D
