Me and 'er indoors had our third poke 3 weeks ago. I've not had any ill effects from any of the jabs. I'd forgotten about all of them by tea time. Very nervous about this new strain though so I'm going to stay away from crowded areas till I see how it'll all pan out. Get well soon if you have been affected.

An old Army mate of mine died of Covid-19 last week. I haven't seen him in years so don't know if he had any underlying health issues, but it did bring the whole thing home to me. Last year in March when Covid was in it's infancy here another old Army mate who was having chemo for lung cancer picked up covid when he was in hospital. He was in a bad way, was on a ventilator and his wife was told that he wouldn't make it. He did make it, but he's buggared now, is dragging an oxygen bottle around wherever he goes, and looks like sh1t.
We've been really lucky here in Oz with only 2100 deaths nationally from covid over the last two years, and I think our adult population is up around the 90% fully vaccinated mark, and over 16's around 80%. The latest variant doesn't appear to be any more lethal than the other variants, but it seem a lot more transmissible.
We have a drive thru testing station a mile up the road from my place and I'm constantly surprised at the fact that the line of cars seems to be growing, not receding as I would have expected with such high vaccination rates? Last time I looked there were around 1500 new cases per day nationally, but I presume (but don't know) that the folks lining up aren't necessarily there because they think they may have contracted the virus, but rather, that they need a covid test for their employers etc, as some employers require regular covid tests, my youngest boy works in the TV/Movie industry and has to have regular tests, even though he's double vaccinated.
We also have the government mandated "No Jab, No job" rule here, which I don't really understand, I'm fully vaccinated but I know I can still be a carrier even if I don't get very sick, so it wouldn't worry me if I had to work with someone who wasn't vaccinated as there is just as much chance of me giving them covid as them giving it to me? I guess it's just the government's way of getting everyone vaccinated. Strange days indeed.......
