Apologies Jerry, and back on subject, my older sister who probably has covid for the second time (undiagnosed, she didn't want to stand in line at the local hospital for an hour or so to officially be told what she pretty much knows with the same symptoms as last time) tells me that after a couple of days with mild flu-like symptoms, she is starting to feel OK again.

She was booked in for the booster next week, but I'm not sure if she can have it so soon after having covid symptoms, does anyone here know? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I reckon the triple vaccine I've received is gonna kill me in 25 to 30 years (long term effects). Oh, I'm 57, by-the-way...

Terry, my question would be would she really need a booster now that she has/may have had an active case? I've seen reports that an active Omicron case may provide better booster protection than an actual booster.

As I traveled back home from the Virgin Islands prior to our Thanksgiving holiday faithfully wearing my mandated mask I stopped over in Tennessee and Georgia for a week for the Manufacturers Cup race and to visit the kids and new granddaughter. 3 airports and 1 shuttle service. After these mandated services, hardly anyone was wearing masks. I have adhered to the mandate of mask wearing in public buildings here in the Islands but not out in the open air. On the last day of the races that Sunday I began to feel a scratchy throat. Slight dry cough the next morning upon my departure for the Atlanta airport in my rental car. Got back to Colorado that night a little fatigued but thought nothing of it due to the exhausting week of fun and travel. The next day my ass was horizontal on the couch all day. The fatigue had gotten much worse. That was the worst day. Wore my old ass out just climbing the stairs. Then 5 nights of night sweats. 2 heavy and 3 mild. This was when they had just announced this new side effect. I had my yearly checkup scheduled for the next week so I didn't worry about this. Doc asked if I thought I had Omicron - "YES". Did you get tested - "NO REASON TO, IT WAS OBVIOUS plus I id I hoped I had it. If that were the case then as I strolled through the stores unmasked as everyone else did then I could spread this #$%* to all the other unmasked motherfukrs that apparently wanted to get it and then we could be done quicker". He agreed and went off on all the unvaxxed that he sees in the hospital begging for the antibody treatment. I would have just been another statistic had I tested. Am I going to get a booster - "NO, THAT WAS MY BOOSTER". No disagreements. Having a medical degree is a double edged sword at times. Symptoms told me Omicron. Knowledge told me it wasn't going to be as bad as other variants. It is a blessing and yet the knowledge can go against wisdom (no booster) haha. And yes, I had 2 shots back this time last year. The vax will not keep the virus from entering your body and cause an infection but a mask will eliminate much of what could enter while the vax will help your immune system fight it off. Simple concepts.

Now that I have stated this, NO FUKN ARGUMENTS/OPINIONS TO THE CONTRARY! Opinions are yours, please keep them that way. This is a "Who has received - provide details and side effects" post

I got the call to be a guardian on an honor flight, the idea is to go with my brother. The rep asked if I had gotten the two vaccines or just the one J&J. I replied the two and a booster. I'm not sure what difference it makes to them, if any.
We were scheduled to go before the pandemic but he missed his phone call and lost the seat.

I got my booster a month ago.  Pfizer for all three.  The only noticeable side effect for them were the sore shoulder muscle for a few days, and realizing just how often my wife apparently puts her hand on my left shoulder!  It's like the injection site was a magnet for her hand every single time.

Dad died of a brain hemorrhage less than two months after taking his 2nd Pfizer shot. He didn't have heart, lung, or blood pressure problems prior to this. He passed last June. His doctors said it surely wasn't from the vaccine, but they also couldn't provide any other reason. It just happens, I guess. He was 68.

I had my first dose (Astra Zenica) in late May last year. It was a really cold day here and I had to ride  a bike to town (half an hour away) and back to clarify frame numbers with the local registration folk. Got chilled to the bone riding home and then drank six long necks (750ml bottles of beer).
Went to bed feeling ok but woke up later in the night sweating and just boiling hot, then cold and shivery, hot, cold, hot cold etc. Not only that but I started to hear my heart pumping in my ears and it would not go away.
I googled side affects of Astra Zenica and saw others had reported Tinitus so thought and hoped the heart beating in my ears would go away, but it still has not.
Finally decided to see a doctor, had dye injected into me yesterday followed by a CT scan to look for possible brain leison. If that shows nothing then it's a MRI scan to do.
I am dead certain it was the Astra Zenica that kicked this off.

There have been more reported side effects from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the US, (and the Astra Zenica used in other parts of the world) than with Pfizer and Moderna. After the initial rush to get people vaccinated slowed down and the supply caught up, and reports of J&J side effects started turning up, the J&J version stopped being recommended here in the US.

Also sorry for both of your losses.

I am very thankful to still be here at 71.
NO heart problems until taking the J&J last year.
120/60 all my life including the day I got the "vaccine".
Now on blood pressure meds and cannot get it back down to my normal.
Averaging 135-140/70-75 on the meds.
Doctor says no other explanation than reaction to the "vaccine".
Wish I had never taken it.

I am also sorry to hear of your loss. I prayed for the neighbor, (which I don't normally do) it didn't help. Also, my Daughter's best friends Mom passed after three weeks in icu. she still prefers no vaccine.
I thought the point of this thread was to provide details of side effects from those who have taken the vaccine, not cite those who haven’t?
Well, if the side effect is "death" then we should just ignore it? It's not like they can come here and tell you about it.

Good news for those who have received a third dose: a new study in the journal Retrovirology has found that those with a third dose (and even those with two) are protected agains variants such as Omicron. It notes that although the vaccines are not a guarantee against infection, people who have received a booster "were highly protected from the more serious consequences of infection." Other recent studies have shown that after a receiving a third booster one's defenses are sufficiently bolstered that a fourth shot is unneccesary -- at least for some time. This is good news for those who were worried that they would need shots every 6 months or less.

Ran into an old buddy on Sunday.  He is a micro-biologist at Pfizer.  Has been for 15 or 20 years.  I don't know his exact job title.  I know he is sent world wide to inspect research and production laboratories.  He had a few interesting things to say.  Has been working 14 hour days for the last 2 years from home.  Of course he has been vaccinated.  He got covid bad about a month ago.  He says he would be dead without vaccination.
If it works good, it looks good...

My kids and grandkids all got it and got over it. I went to my daughter's house last weekend and helped hang some kitchen cabinets. And caught a nasty cold. I just did a test, it's negative for covid but I'm miserable anyway.
Just before symptoms I had been at a volleyball game, no one else in the gym had a mask so I took mine off too.

I have had three Pfizer shots since last year, Despite this I was able to catch the omicron variant on February 17th. Not sure where as I have continued using a KN95 mask and limited my interactions with most every one.

Something to keep in mind is I am on two immune suppression treatments to help with a pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis, we "hoped" I would be protected by the vaccine but I guess I am an example of how it keeps you out of the hospital.

Worst sore throat I can remember!, felt pretty bad till the antiviral drug I was prescribed kicked in about 24 hours after I started taking it.

All in I remain convinced that if it was not for modern medicine and the science that supports it, m wife would be selling my bikes.

Lucky we all are.
I tell my wife the motorcycles are an investment...

I've had my full allocation of 3 jabs so felt confident going on a coach trip to Scotland last weekend (50 old farts on a coach - what could possibly go right). Got back Monday and the Wife felt rough and tested +ve.  I felt like I had a bad cold Tuesday and tested +ve. My next door neighbour who we went with has it too.  2 days later I feel ok apart from a snotty nose.  Without the hard graft of the scientists etc, I know it could have been a different outcome altogether.  You only need to look at someone with Covid these days and you cop for it.  So grateful for the vax.

Yep, I flew to Hervey Bay in Queensland on Thursday and was kind of surprised that once I was out of the aircraft there wasn't a mask wearer in sight. The Resort Hotel I was staying at was fantastic, they had a great bistro where I had dinner, then I wandered into the gaming room and won 65 bucks on a poker machine before I called it a night. Over the next four days I rode 2180 Km (1362.5 miles) stopping in various cities and towns mixing with the general population, staying in hotels and eating in restaurants etc. Yesterday I had a bit of a runny nose when I arrived home, so as I had some leftover RAT kits I did a test, and I'm negative. Cool.

I had intended to ride down the coast, staying with my oldest son in Sydney on Saturday night, but due to the latest floods on the NSW coast, I changed my mind at the last minute, and went inland instead. My son rang yesterday to say that he's got Covid. He's OK, he's got the standard sore throat etc but he's fully vaxxed and is also very fit, so he's fine, but I dodged a bullet as my health isn't all that great, so I'm lucky that I chickened out and took an alternate route. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
