Lets talk about my bung hole
« on: February 03, 2021, 05:39:38 AM »
Anyone successfully adapt the M16 x 1.5 male bung to a 1/4 inch female? I want to move away from the $h1tty cheap Cb550 petcocks and try to use a Pingel. #madeyoulook

I had found a really nice low profile German made steel adaptor off of one of those industrial lego sites a while ago but this was all I could find at the moment:

https://phenixindustries.com/product/metric-to-pipe-reducer-bushings-m16-x-1-50-1-4-npt-4/

And was going to pair it with something like this:

https://www.denniskirk.com/pingel/power-flo-fuel-valve-with-1-4-in-npt-inlet-6111-ah.p185249.prd/185249.sku?utm_source=google&utm_medium=csecid=6821162156&aid=76472566741&keyword=829654786293%3A%3Apla-829654786293&kid=829654786293&gclid=CjwKCAiAsOmABhAwEiwAEBR0ZvMQL-KJ7Sd95rLWSLx_e2wPScXJWOZNR__3hnJuh1KBHfndy7-B2xoCsU4QAvD_BwE

I was going to do the same thing but never got around to it but would love to see how it works out!

I would be able to make a few in near future, just getting my lathe going again.
3/8 NPT is more common on petcock, lots of  used Pingel's on  ebay, come in single and dual outlet. Not sure if the screen will fit in the tank hole.

I have made them before for 750 F tank, not sure what thread they were.

Thanks Frank - this is the one I was attracted to. They make female adapter at 22M if that might be easier to step up. IDK...

I am thinking now that the 1/4 npt , will mean screen will fit thru the tank bung... probably  flow more than you need.

Yes probably out perform everything Honda ever made.
Was originally thinking of getting a end cap and just drilling and tapping but I don't think there will be enough material to form good threads for the npt fuel valve. it would probably work but you'd want to stay to good roads as to not rattle it around much. :|
