This one may take bit longer. I want to complete the Rickman CR. and get a few details on  my new to me “Chopper” cleaned up in 2021. Determined to “ride more”. My Benelli SEI (Honda 550 with two more cylinders) never got used in 2020. Just insured it again!
Where do i see this 550 with 2 extra cylinders?

Is the float gauge made of plastic or metal?  How thick is it?

Water jet machine could crank out bunches of these in either aluminum or plastic quickly, would take longer to program the machine to cut them than it would to cut 24 out of a sheet of 3/32” thick aluminum sheet, or 48 out of 1/8” thick ABS plastic (or similar plastic)

I like the Benelli, but six pipes remind me much of the CBX...either sound just great...just the cbx can be a real monster in power by comparison. Thanks for sharing the photos!

Interesting find on the pipe acid. How did you determine the concentration of the original product and is that 10:1 your dilution with water?  Very nice results!

It is riding season already here in AZ but we had snow with the storm system on the 13th! It has marked up to 70f today. Tomorrow back into around high 50s just below 60 and then by Friday we see temps in the 80s again. Spring in the desert southwest!
Now if we would get some rain to end the extreme drought conditions...I would give up riding for several weeks of rain to replenish the water supplies. Would be nice to have a good wildflower season, but unlikely this year.

Probably about 3/16”. Bought it from vintagecb750 years ago. I snipped out a few by just tracing it and a few careful measurements....

The jug says it’s 75% phosphoric, same as what Terry used, so I went 10:1. Very effective, overnight.

In this thread, 26 mm is the only float height mentioned for the 750, K0 through K6.  I’ve seen in other posts a discussion about correct float height setting being adjusted a bit for “today’s fuels”, ethanol being the issue.  I use non-ethanol 92 (drive 60 miles to get it) in my 750’s.  Is 26 mm still correct?

I fine tuned with clear tube later on. The only way to know exact. Float valve springs a factor too.

Boring when it start to flow fuel due to float setting.

I drilled small holes in the airbox of my K2 due to overflow.
1.5mm in each corner. It had flowed some fuel that way earlier. I noticed the smell of fuel.
Now visible if it will happen again.
 I cleaned the partly clogged overflow pipes in bowls all the way out thru the hoses. Also the upper vent tubes.

Worse if floading fuel enter engine. Petcock off at most longer stops.

I use the same gauge on my K0-K6. Always seems to work for me.....

Used it on the ‘69 with the 4-1 cables and it fired instantly and ran great (didn’t ride it, just on the table).

I bought the genuine Honda float level tool years ago, but gave it and my genuine factory workshop manual to a mate when I sold my K1 and bought my first Harley Sportster, only to find that it had a Keihin CV carb and the float tool would have worked fine on it too, but now I just use my $20 digital vernier. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Spent the afternoon scraping and scrubbing the frame (after knocking out the headstock bearings). Removed a few lbs of crud. The auto chain Oiler was not a good idea! May drill some drainage holes before painting the frame. The welded on rear engine mount cradle brackets are open 1/2 way up, but welded tight at the bottom. Doesn’t seem right. A couple of small holes on the inside will be invisible......

I usually drill and tap the brake pedal pivot tube and centre stand swivel for a grease nipple too. But, may refrain from “modifying” this one.

The Benelli came with 3-4 other Honda motorcycles I bought from the widow of a local collector. After he died, a bunch of his “friends” were trying to steal the bikes from his wife, one at a time. When I told my wife the story, I got a free pass! Offered he woman twice what the other buggers were playing at and took home everything. Best surprise was all the “little boxes”.

The Benelli didn’t look complete, but found everything, including new pipes. When I first rode it, ignition was not right. Invested in a German electronic solution and it’s become a “ripper”. Sounds amazing, fantastic handling, outstanding brakes. And totally unique, funky ‘70’s look.  Sold all the others bikes, but not this one. Really a “keeper”.

Frank.... so true! Nicest lady too. Her husband had his own business for many years, doing subassembly work for GM, in Oshawa, ON. Really successful guy, he had a small shop in the back of the factory. Spent his afternoon with his bikes. Sorry I never met him. Finished off a KO he had (sold the second one to LASH, on here), finished and sold a Suzuki GT550 and a really cool Honda CL200 Scrambler. Kept the Benelli. There was also a dragster built the ‘80’s by “Orient Express” in the US.

Fortunately, she was driving a new Land Rover and very comfortably off. Helped me through the DMV and we got ownerships for all the bikes (except the drag bike). She was delighted to give me the whole deal, just so she could tell the other guys to “piss off”. The Gold K0 ended up in a small collection put together by John Nelson’s son (Nelson Honda, Toronto Honda, Ontario Honda, and the guy the built the Shannonville race track). Ended well.
