I ended up with a rust bucket T350 myself a few years ago. If I had storage space I'd have kept it but it got parted out to a guy in Minnesota. The engine was half full of water, no title, it came along with a 750A in similar shape delivered for $50.

The guy in Minnesota wasn't a guy called Keith was it Don? I've been buying all my T350 stuff from him for the last few weeks and he specializes in old 2 strokes. Great guy, if it wasn't for the shipping doubling the price on everything I bought, I would have bought a complete bike from him. As it was, I bought everything but the bare frame, wheels and seat. ;D

I didn't find his info but Keith sounds right. I boxed up a bunch of stuff for a hundred $$ I was glad to see some of it put to use.

Yep he’s a good guy Don, I’m looking forward to getting my frame blasted, drilling out all the busted bolts (that were rusted into thd frame) and tapping/heli coiling them before slapping on some paint and bolting the engine and everything back together. Surprisingly I was able to buy new oversize pistons and needle roller bearings so I’ll bore the cylinders out a tad, and it should go like a little rocket!

Yes that $51K sandcast was mint, I think it was at Mecum? Stupid prices, but that’s fine with me, the flow on effect helps us all, I just bought another K1 engine in bits so have a 1970 and 71 to build now, plus 2 K2’s, plus my 970 engine to go in something (maybe the bitsa) so lots of CB750 projects which seem to be appreciating faster than I can build them! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Was it a K0 or a CB750K Frank? According to the book that Spotty loaned me, there was a K0 but it was the transition model between the CB750K (sandcast then diecast) and the K1, in mid 1970. A very small production run, with K1 carbs and gauges. Don't know if any went to the US or Canada, but were sold in the UK and Europe. Marcel (CB750faces.com, and a member here) bought one from the original owner. ;D

Terry.,... around here, we usually call any diecast cb750 built before the K1 (1971 Model) a “K0”. Sloppy but convenient.....

Yep, and I call mine a K0 because that’s the common parlance now, but back in the day, we called them “Pre K1’s” in my little town because that’s what the local dealer called them when the only K0 owner I knew ordered parts. ;D

K0 must have been invented when K1 was released or planned to be released.
Before that CB750 only, right?
The early parts manual Terry has can not have any K0 written.

I'm looking forward to receiving the 1969 parts manual you put me on to Per, certainly my 1974 Honda parts manual doesn't mention the "K0" at all. ;D

The Mysterious KO, I believe this was a name coined by American Honda. One of the few places I have seen it in print on an official Honda document is the front cover of the American Honda Tech Service Bulletins see pic. Although the CB750 Pre K1’s is how the early bikes were described in the bulletins till about 1976 where the term K0 is printed in an American Honda Parts news dated April fools 1976.

That’s how I recall it too Terry, In Oz the early bikes inc sandys were just plain CB750’s in the USA K1’s were on sale after 1044650 but here in Oz and many other markets we did not get K1’s till much later, it differed in different markets, but in Oz we got K1’s after 1054xxx and the bikes sold in Oz between 1044650 and 1054xxx were transition bikes and called K0’s, painted airbox finned side covers but linkage carbs, they had tapered fork sliders like on a K1 and other small differences and were known here as K0’s. But they have have been lost in time. And the American term K0 has come to mean any pre K1.
