That's a real fine tank-holder, B. Very cool!

Thanks! I hope the “Paintless dent wizard” approves. He’s been so busy I haven’t had a chance to drop in on him yet!

First race weekend is past, so back on this!

Lash had a bucket full of hardware plated for $100. These are the case bolts I’ll individually replace on the engine, after I blow some paint on it.

“Greg the Polisher” called. All my engine covers for #582 are ready (plus a bunch of parts Lash included in this batch). I had all mine vapour blasted first, as they were heavily stained. Be interesting to see how they turned out. Heading there in the morning, pictures later.

Are you going to polish them, or just go with the sandy look?

I’m going to include the lower crankcase bolts for the sandy also. It seems you can’t buy engine case bolts of any description these days. I have asked Yamiya and they don’t have them or any plans to restock them.

That would be great! “Engine Painting weather” is any day now.

Picked up the engine covers today. The drive sprocket cover looks like it’s pretty porous, from day one….... I may have to “borrow” one from another one of my bikes?.  The generator cover has some road rash on the bottom, but I just consider that as “patina” on a +55 year old motorcycle. Note the “9 hole clutch cover”.

Those are the prettiest Sandy covers I've seen!
I haven't seen but one 750 in the past 6 years that didn't have the 'pavement rash' on the alternator cover. That sole one had a brand new ($340!) cover on it.

“Lash” came by today with a full set of case and engine bolts for this project. He found a shop near the Toronto airport that did 3/4 of a bucket of hardware for $100 cash! When I’m finished painting the engine, I will change these out one at a time. Sweet!
