ARD set up
« on: February 09, 2021, 10:11:22 AM »
Enclosed are some pics of and ARD set up that came with a cb750 I just purchased. It is not a magneto. It is a magnet triggered electronic distributer of the bosch variety. No ignition coil. Just the wires you see. And the toggle switch mounted. I have no info on this. Looking for installation info. And hopefilly who made it. Thanks.

I was told the distributors were often Bosch Volvo, same as VW except the advance was made for reverse rotation.  The drive is ARD. Some may have been sold by RC engineering. According to the cap it needs a coil.
This might want to be in the high performance section

The belt drive shouldn’t need reverse rotation like the angle drive that RC used.  bhp used Mallory mags with their belt drives.

I see no way of running that without a coil

I agree, surely it needs a car-type coil connection to the centre of the distributor cap?

Also, shouldn't there be some sort of tensioner for the belt? The timing is going to be all over the place otherwise
