first the national motorcycle museum in UK and now this? Wot? no frigging fire alarms? WTF? just hard to believe.

I cannot understand it either, it went up like a tinderbox. How any insurance companies would allow this without a splinkler system is beyond reason. It's heartbreaking and maddening at the same time.

Terrible loss.

 Even a limited supply of water might have controlled it early on.
   I knew a guy that owned a sprinkler company. His own house burned, it had no sprinklers due to lack of water supply, his next house on that site had a dry/wet sprinkler system fed by a natural gas generator driven pump plumbed to his swimming pool.   
   We had just finished a 110 unit retirement home and he took the entire crew to fix/replace his house, he hired plumbers and didn't need me and afterwards stayed in the plumbing business too.

Just think of the bikes that was borrowed from private collectors. The owners must be gutted.  :-[CCPC

you would hope that they were well insured . i am upset that i didnt visit while i could , i have been to most of the european bike museums but this one eluded me .
