front fender stay
« on: February 21, 2021, 06:56:52 PM »
i have a K6.  the K7s or 8s don't have the front fender stay on the front, only on the back.  at least that's my understanding of the 7 or 8.  can i remove mine without expecting any issues with the front end or adding additional fork support?  the front stay on mine is pretty beat up and i've straightened it before but it looks like #$%*.  i have seen a 7 or 8 without the front stay and it looks better.

No worries on removing it...I think a K7 or K8, F0 or F1 front fender bolts right in place, also certain models of cb550 use the same no front stay fender.

Personally, I think the stays are one distinctive feature of sohc Honda's
If it works good, it looks good...

Put a shorter front fender from a CB750F/CB550 on it mate, that longer front fender will look silly without the stay. Here's my K2 "Bitsa", with a 550(?) front fender fitted. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Back in 76....... I immediately grabbed a 76 750F front fender to put on my new K6 to eliminate the front stay. A much better looking front fender.
