Royal Enfield Classic 500 rear rim on Cb750K/F?
« on: March 02, 2021, 05:11:57 PM »
While looking at low budget options for a wider rim, this modern day reproduction of Royal Enfield Classic poped up and it got me wondering if anyone here looked at potentially lacing them to the factory cb750k hub. Its a 18x2.5" rim in 40 spoke, they have them on ebay for good price.

I tried contacting the seller on some wheel specifics but no luck, let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

That's not a bad deal on a new rim, I've heard good things about chrome work from India for years now, they don't yet have the kind of environmental regulations we have here.....

I'd say it'll work. I browsed through some Royal Enfield rear wheels and their hub sizes seemed smaller than a CB750 hub, this could affect the angle that the spoke holes in the rim are drilled at. Hole angles can be filed slightly to allow better fit if they're not far off.

Take a look at the hub.. if one side is far smaller diameter than the other..  then angles will be off on one side.
Can be dealt with, if you feel up to it.

This is very true. RE used some symmetric rear hubs like the 750 rear but some were grossly unequal diameters from one side to the other.

I'd be most comfortable hearing back from the seller.

Just realized , with vastly differing hub size, it sometimes mean s 2 different cross patterns... that would probably kill this idea.  Can't really expect seller to know what else this can fit........but....
It's fair easy for you to research what hub looks like, maybe even spoke length, cross pattern , etc..
