Finished Airbox and “Bubble Print”

Attached pic shows one area of a recently painted SC airbox.  The work was done by Blake Conway and I think it looks good.  Problem is it has been stored in bubble wrap, which has left a "bubble print".  I tried a little Plexus and a microfiber cloth with no results. 

The print seems to be raised to the touch, so it may be a very thin layer of plastic from the bubble wrap.  Question is how to remove.  Heat gun?  All suggestions/comments welcome.

Polish?
Next step if needed rubbing followed by polish and wax.
Or very fine sanding, grit 2000.

I have no experience with painting and finishes so I’m very concerned about damaging the paint’s finish. 

So no heat gun?  Regarding 2000 grit or polishing compound - wouldn’t either of these leave scratches?

It might be someone that has fixed same kind of problem.

If your not a paint guy then someone who is qualified in painting needs to determine the best course of action. Talk to the painter for suggestions. It is likely the paint or clear coat over the paint coat was not fully cured and the impressions are from the still soft surface and the bubble wrap interaction. Not likely that the bubble wrap left a plastic coating on the finish. Paint can take up to 60 days to fully cure, so it should not have been left in the bubble wrap once you brought it home.

results may vary.

+1 to Goodtryer. Very fine finishing compound should do it, without rubbing through the clearcoat.
This is what I use, it's very fine, so will take some elbow grease, but great results.

I don’t recall exactly when I put it in bubble wrap, but the painter didn’t use it to ship.  I’m sure it sat in the shipping materials for several weeks, before I decided to wrap it in the BR.

I am an experienced painter and as noted the paint was not cured after two weeks. All the suggestions above are possible cures, yet without knowing what is on there and how many coats, they may get you into trouble with repairing the finish.
Can you speak with the painter and if not have an experienced body shop painter give you an opinion? If the markings from the bubble wrap are relatively deep it will be easy to sand through the finish.

I have side covers with the same problem - painter wrapped them up before they were totally dry and I have plastic print on the clear coat - the 3M finishing compound and a little elbow grease followed by a good wax will fix it up - don't focus on the print areas do the whole thing evenly.
