Identify these orings
« on: March 09, 2021, 09:52:58 AM »
My motor doesnt appear to have any leaks upon inspection. Gonna open it up just to inspect everything so i may as well replace gaskets and what not. This kit doesnt have the pucks but do the orings in the kit replace them? Know thats a known issue for leaks.

I am very much not a 550 guy but I just took a minute to look up all of those o-rings on partzilla.com and verified that you still need six RUBBER, SEALING

Avoid aftermarket versions for fitment reasons.

Edit: If you buy that kit I'd write a review to help the next guy.

Thanks Alan. I already had them in my cart from partzilla just in case. Wondering what the bigger orings are for then. The little ones are valve guide seals.

The 12 o-rings are all one part number, 8 are for valve adjuster caps and 4 are for the carburetor manifolds.

The big orange ones go at the bottom of the cylinder sleeves where they meet the jugs.

When you say valve adjuster caps you mean the tappet covers?

The 8 green O rings alongside the valve stem seal go in file 13 under R as they go on the outside of valve guides before fitting in head
