So I shared this video with a friend of mine. He said it means nothing to him. I guess you have to be a biker to feel this? Or am I just weird?

A little bit to much rev there, right? Hopefully Carillo rods...

I like the first version -78. I would like to have a candy red, stock.
Most aftermarket exhaust I have seen to CBX1000 is not good looking as I see it.

They have a revvier character. If you have seen the slim stock rods, throttle control. Look like CB750 stock rods.

being a Honda forum I am surprised by lack of support.
Even on our small multi brand BC CLASSIC forum it seems to have a Mythical bucket list type of status..
Even people that dont even ride Honda anymore , often lament that they let their CBX go.
I suspect they are hard and expensive to maintain and keep in good shape..

I have posted this before and yes it always sounds great.

Honda has always been ahead of the game starting building 6 cylinder race bikes in the early 1960s. And yes they have the sound of superb engineering.

The 1966 RC166 here(upgraded RC161 that Mike Hail made famous on)

I was frustrated by the slowpokes on the track in the way just from watching. I can only imagine what the rider felt.

The only bike I ever considered trading in my 750 for. I was in $$ straits at the time, or would have.

Pipes be like music, tastes vary.

Mine likes the sound of four into ones, and that CBX. F1 like to my ear.

But all my 4 cylinder machines have had the 4 into 4 pipes, because I like to look at them, symmetry is a fundamental aspect of beauty.

Just because my thoughts are on the sound of machines, I love the sound of a Mustang Cobra V8; but the new Corvette would be my choice.

You need to tilt down engine for various service jobs, right?
I have a friend that is currently working on an early model of CBX1000, black -78.

Carbs not fun according to him plus cam chain tensioner if finding any. Special made in Holland if I remember correctly.

Yes, I want one too! I'm sure most Honda bike people want one.

What I wouldn't give to have the last-year version of it, with the little cafe' fairing and the bags. With my Type I diabetic wife riding along, always need those bags...she sure has learned how to ride the corners with me over these years! It is SO much fun to cruise with her on the mountain paths, mostly gears 2-3, pushing to 90+...dam* snow...itch...scratch...

Yeah, the CBX is about the only liter bike besides a '75-76 goldwing that I like in the vintage bikes. The CB1100 I would not mind owning either if equipped the way I like those.
CB900F maybe another bike that could be fun too.
But, it is unlikely I will own those...so I will admire them from afar.

CB900F is still lowered prised here. Maybe it will be popular and I'll regret.
CB1100F can be nice. CB1100R is a collectors bike.
