Mirror Recomendations
« on: February 22, 2007, 07:44:22 pm »
I have a bone Stock 1978 750K. The mirrors I have are black plastic, which may mean they are not original on that bike. They do not vibrate or blur no matter what. i need some replacement mirrors. Chrome or Black is not an issue. Honda no longer stocks the mirrors. Has anyone used non OEM mirrors with good vibration resistance.

Stay away from Emgo bar-end mirrors... They vibrate like hell (and the attachment system sucks  ;))

Those Napoleons look nice Heff, how much were they?

I got my itsy-bitsy mirror from CRG.
It is the smallest one they make, killer quality, and surprisingly
enough with the way it is mounted I can actually see both to the left AND behind me.

Highly recommend !

If bone stock is still an option, there are originals on eBay. $30.00 min. 4 days to go, no bids yet

i had those on my Monster
but replaced them with the HindSights (next size larger and foldable) when someone knocked over my bike

Excellent Quality, and the mirrors are concaved so you can see quite a bit

i have a set of stock mirrors i probably need to ditch - send me a PM

Thnaks for the input and don;'t stop now. I  looked at the CRG site and those look great. I am not sure they fit the style of the bike, but I do want good quality. I do like to see behind me.I have cruised ebay and the real Honda mirrors have rust and many times the silvering degrades. Please give me more options.

http://motorhelmets.com/htm1/bodyparts-mirrors.htm

31 bucks at that place plus shipping^

this is the chrome version on ebay for 16.00  plus shipping ^

do a search on this forum for napoleon mirrors and i think i found some cheaper a while back.

EDIT:  those prices are for 1 mirror... they are not right or left handed because they twist to fit the same on each bar.

This is all good stuff. If you look at my Avatar that is actually my bike. I think I like the mirrors I have because that don't distort from vibration. There is one strange thing they do. When I hit 5K RPM the right one buzzes loudly, I originally thought it was something loose on the motor. The buzz goes away at 6K, so that is now has become my shift indicator. But, if you look at how they sit, they are a bit lower and stick out past my shoulders, so I can see very well. The case is actually plastic and is cracked from a tip over. This all may sound odd, but riding a 29 year old bike is also a bit odd.

I replaced the mirrors on my '78F a few years ago because they vibrated and no longer would stay in position. I ended up using mirrors from a ahhh....ummm...Kawasaki.  :o They're black and rectangular in shape and fit the bike much better in my opinion. They hold their position and they don't vibrate. I think you can get similar Honda mirrors from the '80's but I got these for $10 so figured at that price a little interbreeding wouldn't hurt.  ;)

That sounds like a plan Mick. America is about diversity.
