CB650C turning over but not starting

MOTORCYCLE:  81' CB650 Custom

I'm hoping someone on here can help me figure this out. I've spend the past 3 months overhauling my 650 with the largest changing being the installation of a M unit. The ignition system has remained the same all except for the b/w wire going to the coils getting power from the munit rather than the start circuit like OEM. However, when I try and start the bike, all that happens are a few backfires and pops.

What I've done:
I've checked every plug to make sure they are firing, which they are.
I did not run a compression test but all the cylinders are going through their strokes properly.
Fuel is getting to the cylinder.

The only thing I can think of now is that my timing is 180 off. However, I did switch the yellow/blue wires going to the coils to the opposite side but this did not make any difference.

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. Once I get this sucker started it's ready to ride.
Thanks,

A spark out of the cylinder does not guarantee one under compression and 650 are quite notorious for ignition units leaking black goo and failing
