Memory failing. Basket case 75 cb750k . Where does this go?
« on: March 21, 2021, 06:46:34 PM »
I found two of these jimcrackitydoodads in the bottom of a parts box...
I think it’s involved in the electrical system...but?

Thanks in advance for accurate answers.
Thanks in advance also for funny wrong answers.
I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.

I've had my hands on literally every part of my K5 basket case, but I don't recall ever seeing one of those.  Is it possible it's a bracket for an aftermarket accessory?

+1. I have never seen that on any of my cb750’s.

If its small enough it could be from inside a handlebar switch

Might be a good guess. Needs to lay it against a ruler.

"Found 2 of them in a box of parts for a 75 750k...."

Zinc plated steel of more galvanized looking?
Any stamps or markings?
Any wear marks where screws were tightened?

Now I'll know what that part is until the day I die... or until I go to sleep tonight.  Whichever comes first.
