20mm offset sprocket needed
« on: April 05, 2021, 11:38:10 AM »
So, like the title reads, I need a 20mm offset sprocket to try and cram a 180 tire into a 1975 CB750F. Cycle Exchange has pictures of one that they used to carry on their website, but when I emailed them about it they let me know that they no longer stock them. I can find 10mm/ 3/8" offset ones, but no luck finding a 20mm one. Does anyone know anywhere where I can aquire one?

Thanks in advance!

Can you cut a slot in the tire for the chain ?

20mm = .787"
Two sprockets with spacers between, drill sprockets with carbide bits, bolt together, weld both ends so it stays together.

Yea, and I know there are places that make custom sprockets as well. I was hoping to be lazy and someone makes one that I can order. When it comes to something odd like this, the only way maybe to make it myself.

Dont forget you will then need to move the front sprocket and probably space the cover out and extend the gearchange shaft---------20mm is a big move

I definitely appreciate the heads up, I figured I was going to have to push the cover out, but didn't give the gear change shaft much thought.

Does anyone know if a 77-78 sprocket carrier will bolt up with ny 75 F motor? Apparently they are offset by 10mm to allow for a wider wheel from the factory. So, if I can bolt that up, and buy a 10mm offset sprocket, then I can get my 20mm total.
