Whirring sound in neutral?
« on: October 05, 2015, 12:07:57 PM »
Heya,

CB750K3: bike runs fine. But last night heading home I noticed this whirring sound at a red light. Shifted into gear and it went away. Once I was home I went back and forth: the sound only happens in neutral, and it's not the regular "clutch rattle," more of a whir or whine coming from the front. Any ideas? I'll try to get a video. Thanks.

Timing chain? valve lash? My K0 has a big cam with .004 lash it whirrs a bit, any changes?  Sometimes after getting a quieter muffler you can hear things you didn't notice before.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
