1973 CB350F new wire harness
« on: April 07, 2021, 08:33:51 AM »
I have a 1973 CB350F my teenage son wanted to do as a project. He had it running at one point but began having problems and eventually lost interest. The bike has been sitting outside for several years and I would like to try to make it run again. My son had the main wire harness off the bike. I just bought a new harness and coils to start. I've downloaded the wiring diagram and it makes sense but its hard for me to see how it translates to the actual harness. It would really help if someone with the same bike would be willing to take pictures for me to see how the harness is routed and what connects where. The bundles with the plastic connectors are obvious but I need help with the loose wires to the engine and coils.

That's the one I bought. Placement of the wires with the plastic clips is obvious. I have questions about the single wires, primarily the ones around the engine and coils. I just thought pictures would help.

Did you get the alternator sub harness as well? https://4into1.com/alternator-wiring-harness-31110-333-000-honda-cb350f-cb400f/

You are right seeing pictures helps a lot.

You do have the Honda workshop manul in paper or pdf format I assume.

No, my alternator harness still looks good. I bought a new main harness, coils and new right hand control switch because wires were cracked or disconnected. What I need to see more then anything else is to see how to wire in the coils and going to the points.

I suggest getting a hold of the OEM Honda 350F workshop manual. I should have clear black and white pictures of all the connections and wireing diagram to make sense of it all.

I found it much easier if the wiring diagram was enlarged to A3 size.

I'm to the point where I think I got it except the coils. If anyone with this bike could please pop your tank of and get a couple picks of how the coils wire in. Not sure but maybe other sohc/4 are wired the same.
