She is down off the blocks and has a functioning front end to include a great front brake lever.  Next step will be going through the bird nest and hitting each connection with dialectic grease before installing the clocks and bucket.  It will have to be light work for the next two weeks since I had some barnacles removed from back yesterday that were positive for carcinoma so I am sporting a number of stiches and not supposed to do anything strenuous or lift anything over five pounds until they are removed.  I am at a total loss as to how I am going to be able to take a leak.......

BTW my Wife thinks that is extremely funny........

As I was reading your note, was trying to think of a snappy answer. You beat us all to it!

Front is done, clocks mounted, cables ran, and got everything back in the bucket along with putting the carbs on with throttle cables.  I am convinced that the Guy in the factory that installed the headlight wiring loom is that infamous dude who gets 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag.  Started on the rear, and of course it had lowering blocks installed......

Really coming along nicely! Now the Chopper is complete, I’m determined not to start any new projects until next winter, but you’re killing my resolve! We’re going Endurance Racing next weekend, so my distraction is coming. Plan is to race the MR2 and ride the bikes.

Make sure you bring home all the trophies....  I am pretty sure after I finish this one up and get it out the door, I am taking a break for a month or two.  There are a number of home projects I have to get too that require purchasing lumber, so with todays prices I will probably have to sell a kidney to get the jobs done.  The one and only Grand-daughter who is also my next door neighbor has really got into horse riding and competing.  I will end up being the chauffer back and forth to her riding farm for the rest of the summer, but believe or not I have really come to enjoy it even though I never was a horse person.  The Wife and I spent 10 hours yesterday in good old Virginia 98 degree heat and humidity watching her compete, but she came home with a number of blue and overall champion ribbons.  I am pretty sure a horse purchase is in the very near future for her Mom and Dad but I know damn well we Grandparents will pulling out the checkbook also for boarding and vet bills.  My only input so far has been try to find one with some chrome, but I am sure that would cost extra like everything in equestrian world.

Horse?
If anyone thinks a vintage motorcycle is a money pit try any type of boat or a horse.
Bike is looking great, are you keeping the handlebars? Sorry if that was in the thread, missed it.

Yes, I decided to keep the tall bars, all the cables have been extended and I have soldered all of the extended wiring which was ran through the bars surprising enough.

Yes I owned a boat, for about a month, one time only.  I just got tired of paddling back to the marina, figured out real quick it was not my thing.  In reference to the horse, I know what we are in for and fully prepared.  She is a great kid, in the gifted program in school and will be a teenager soon.  No talk of boys so far, just horses and it is non stop.  I must say she is a beautiful rider, tall slender, and pure elegance in the saddle but it still scares the hell out every time she takes a jump.  In the furthest stretch of my imagination, I never thought I could be a fan of a huge, gassy, hard headed, cantankerous,  grass eating, pooping, beast that a horse is, but they tend to grow on you......

Done deal done, just about. I  finished bolting everything back on this afternoon.  Dumped some corn free in the tank, turned the petcock on to no leaks.  Pulled the choke and hit the starter, fired right away.  Took a short trip around the block trying to outrun an approaching thunder storm and was totally impressed, pulls strong, no smoke, shifts like butter, and other than some idle adjustment and finishing detail touches like a seat strap, mirrors, and few more coats of wax, it is done.  I will probably list it in the next week or two, I really do believe it is a original 9000 mile survivor that I know I will regret selling.  I am going to throw a few more miles on it before making the call.  I truly enjoy bringing them back, but damn do I hate the hassle of selling one.  No shows, low ballers, endless questions, I am hoping the Nigerian Prince is still out there who will pay double of you accept his third party check......Wish me luck.....

Looks really fine. You should have no trouble selling. What’s it worth in your area?

Depending on condition, 5 to 8 thousand dollars.  Of course the upper priced models tend to stay for sale much longer.  I really don't have a ton of money in this one, so if it does go up for sale it will be priced to sell.  We had a part time antique business a number of years ago and all I heard from the other dealers was what the book value was.  I never paid any attention to that, if I bought at a good price, it was sold the same way.....
