As do all the CB550s
Not sure why one would want a 15t sprocket though.
Because I’m stuck with a 37 rear, and 28” diameter tires. Use the calculator here and you’ll see what that’s doing to my overall gear ratio and speed. It’s laughable.
It all depends on how you are riding the bike. I beat if you chopped down to fourth or change gear at higher revs things will be different
It's a compromise, to be sure. It's just an attempt to compensate for the mass of the rear axles wheels and tires, the tall tire profile, and the small rearend sprocket. I'm also simply not likely to be running this old Servicar rear end at speeds over 70 for any length of time - so "highway cruising" is not the target for this guy.
In any case, once I've got the 15t sprocket, I can play around with them... i'll have a 15, 16, and 17, and can see whether I really feel any difference between them. Who knows, maybe I'll not really feel a difference, given I'm already lugging around all this mass.
Anyway - I've consumed enough of everyone's time with my discussion of what's pretty far removed from the typical bike on this group - only because the chopper forums are painfully inactive, and I get lots of good responses and ideas from you guys!
I did grab that ebay 15t sprocket, by the way... thank you 754!
