Seat “Rebuilding Services”?
« on: April 13, 2021, 06:47:27 AM »
I’ve been checking out a website and EBay seller that repairs and restores motorcycle seats. He actually has three of what I need “for sale “ (my 1969 CB750 restoration). Considering sending my original seat for their full “rebuild” services.

Has anyone one ever dealt with <www.coolretrobikes.com>? Thanks for your feedback.

FWIW......I looked this guy up years ago as I was curious. His advertisement, as you see, looks fantastic. But as I searched more and more, I began to read stories of non returned, valuable seats, unable to contact...stuff like that.....
As you see, there is no address or phone numbers on the site. You have to dig. Maybe it's changed.
I wanna say his name is "mike" and he's in florida.......or was......
You're meticulous about your stuff.......that's the only reason i'm saying anything..........do your own research......hope I'm wrong....

Thanks..... useful feedback and I appreciate it. I found the website so I think I’ll start with some emails and photos. I have a friend in Florida, and if he’s close enough, may have him check the place out. I was hoping someone on here has actually dealt with him.

One of the “Feedback” comments on the site was from a guy in the JVMC that I might be able to get in touch with. Will report back what he has to say!

Happy customers.  IMO, any company selling a quality product should have at least a few of these listed on their website.

I had my 75F seat redone by David at Raven6 customs in Toronto. He's done other honda restorations as well. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for future projects.

PM me for his contact info if you want.

I've used Sargent Cycle a few times for my projects and I've always been pleased with the work and price. https://www.sargentcycle.com/. A few months ago, I had them reshape the stock seat on my Kaw Z900RS, install a layer of their "comfort foam," with a new cover that I designed. $319 shipped:

Looks good too! I’m checking these guys out because they actually restore the original seat and cover. For the sand cast, it might be worth the effort. I want to reuse/ restore 99% of the original machine.
