Carb bowl fuel line routing?
« on: April 21, 2021, 04:06:56 PM »
CB750K5 Keihin carbs

Searched the forum and couldn’t find a post on this. Does the fuel line from the carb bowls go through the metal clip at the back of the engine case and then down between the engine and frame. How far down should it extend?

How does this look?

It looks depressing. I've installed new parts on my bike that aren't as clean as the underside of yours!

Sorry, can't help on the actual question...

There should be a little holder for the bowl hoses, mounted on the center rear case bolt. You can get one from PartsNmore:

Carb Overflow Guide, Replaces OEM # 11355-300-000

in the CB750K section (Carbs).

Without this little retainer the hoses like to wiggle their way over into the chain after a while.

Goodtyer, thanks! Nice compliment. I’m finishing up my first rebuild so the engine has a fresh coat of paint.

Hondaman-
Have the clip installed already. It’s in the picture. Wondering after it goes through the clip where they route after. Think between the case and frame makes sense, but Maybe it stopped right after the clip, but I would think there is the potential for it to get gas on the case, if you cut it right after the clip.

I routed mine the same as yours.  They stick out the bottom about an inch.  I figure it'll keep gas from getting on the bike.  Also make sure to make them long enough to get the bottom half of the airbox in and out.

Ok, awesome. Sounds like what I did works just fine. Good reminder to have a little extra slack for the air box to fit! Thanks everyone!
