4 into 1 wiring loom & sub harness
« on: April 22, 2021, 07:49:44 AM »
Hi all, this is related to my 1977 CB 550 F. I am in the process of replacing the wiring (harness & sub harness from 4 into 1) and have an issue / problem. The existing wiring at the rear of the bike consists of: Brown, Lt. Blue, Green & Yellow, Orange, Green & 2 Black (from the indicator brackets. The new wiring harness has the following colour's for the rear of the bike: Red & White (double terminal), Green & Yellow, Red & Yellow, Blue & White and Orange.  I think the Light Blue wire connects to the Blue & White wire, the Green & Yellow wire connects to the Green & Yellow and Orange to Orange, but I don't know what the Red & White or The red & Yellow wire's are for or connect to!.
Can anybody help me out.
Cheeers, Tony.

If yours is a F2, I'd consult p.190-4 in: http://manuals.sohc4.net/cb500/service_manual/HSM500550_17.pdf

I would tell the seller the loom is incorrect and see what they say

Paint the wires any color you please !

Brown is tail light
Lt. Blue - right turn signal
Green & Yellow - brake light
Orange - left turn signal
Green - ground
Black - hot 12v

Ground wires from the indicator bases may be black and go to green on the bike.
