Topic: Images Blurred

I have found this forum an invaluable source of information for my current CB750 build.
However when looking at posts very often the images, in particular Photobucket images, are very blurred and of little to no use. It appears that the images are not loading correctly or no longer available.
In particular my current problem relates to images attached to a post by Uncrash dated Feb 22 2009 concerning Rickman Fairing Bracketry.
Is there a way around this problem as the posts are often of little to no use without the images ?

Unfortunately, photobucket implemented policies to push people toward paid accounts - the blurring with watermarks is new as of earlier this year.  Apparently having a paid account with photobucket does provide you with access to the original unblurred image if you click on one of the hosted images in our message threads.

It doesn’t look like there is much that can be done about it other than crowd sourcing direct uploads to replace the blurred images.  It is a labor intensive process that isn’t easily automated.

On V4MuscleBike .com they encouraged people to load their photos directly to the website long before the Photobucket indecent. The result was hardly any loss of pictures when Photobucket got greedy. All of the old tech posts are intact and useful. Rattlehead was a step ahead of those corrupt sites.

There are something like 65,000 messages with photobucket links. 

It is possible to automate a process for relocating photobucket images and re-hosting them, but making changes of that magnitude is tricky and a lot of work.  Another way to do it, and one which would focus the effort on the most significant message threads would be for people to replace images when they are encountered.  It probably requires a paid photobucket account or, maybe, one of the browser plugins if they still work.  Although you can’t edit the original message, adding a message to the thread with the images attached would make it less of an effort for a moderator to go back later and fix the images in the original message.

I would agree on the outside hosting of photos. I use Postimage. Fast and easy. Also post on the V4musclebike site and it is quick to do. When I try and post a pic on here I never know if the orientation of the photo will be correct. To date I have not been able to post one with the orientation correct.

Asking questions once in a while on Lesa's '82 CB650SC. Currently having what I think is a fuel starvation issue with it. We may have bought it with this issue. Lesa never ran it hard and I did for the first time a couple months ago.

Do you have the vacuum operated fuel petcock?  AKA the spawn of the devil?   I had it on my 82 CB900C and that was the only reason she left me stranded once - I went with mechanical petcock afterwards.
