82 CB650SC Nighthawk, stock Nippon Denso gauges. New and properly lubed cables (few years ago) never fixed the following issues. The faces are in great condition, though slightly faded.

Up to ~35-40mph, the speedometer is steady(ish), but then starts bouncing anywhere from 5-10mph from 40-60mph.

The tach is also steady(ish) cruising up to 4k, but then will get a deal bouncy if I'm holding higher RPMs. It seems to be ok when accelerating, but not when I'm trying to maintain a speed or RPM.

Lastly, I can't reset the tripmeter anymore. The button doesn't seem to do anything, and I'd love to be able to better track gas mileage & tank fuel capacity.

Am I due to have my gauge cluster reconditioned to some degree? I'd be plenty open to doing this myself and have glanced over the stickied thread on opening them up, but will be unsure what to look for once inside. I also recognize there are probably some very sensitive parts inside these gauges and may be better suited to get a professionals' eyes on them.

Any insight on these issues will help.
