Topic: Shaft Advancer threads stripped

The Shaft Advancer is the roughly four inch long thin stud which the points assembly slides over. A thin nut threads onto the advancer to hold the points assembly in place. The threads on the outside end on mine have stripped. How difficult is replacing the Shaft Advancer? I would like to replace it.

 Should screw right out as its threaded in and it has an o-ring on the end also.

Make sure you use a new “0” ring and some thread sealer on it.......

Since your threads are stripped you can not double nut it to remove. You will probably have to use vice grips. In my experience they are always a very tight fit.
