So bikes from the 90's are now vintage....
Those bikes are almost new for me!
Time is too quick.

well, a 95' superbike is now 25 years old, so that counts as "historic interest vehicle" in most countries.... but also means that WE are turning vintage too :)

there should certainly be a place for 90s bikes . in an effort to attract more riders the organising bodies have created more and more classes .  i think if they had 3 or 4 classes per decade it might make things more sustainable . in america there seems to be more classes than riders !

Yes Simon, in NA managing classes is always the topic of discussion. The VRRA is introducing Period 5 this year with two classes. Meanwhile there is a large effort to get any & all older bikes out to prop up Period 1 & 2. There are other assn's here where these newer bikes can race but the VRRA needs the bikes/bodies to pay the bills. Because we race at the best tracks, everyone want to be a part of that. It won't be long before Period 1 bites the dust or else they all run together in a mixed class. Kind of a shame.

I know this has been discussed to death before and doesn't belong here.

from my experience people want a class built for their bike rather than build a bike for a class . there are far to many classes there brent , the one for bikes made between 83 and 84 mage me laugh !

I agree Simon. Once we get into 80's machinery, more complaining erupted.  ::) If there was a model that was short lived & quickly eclipsed, then look for something else. I can race mine in five classes and potentially win or certainly place well. It gets tiring, maybe I need to move on!
