Depending on the size of the missing piece and what that broken threaded area holds.
I personally would used the JB weld with at minimum a Heli-coil inserted into the JB material first, so that it can cure around the Heli-coil. You now have a metal bolt insert to hold your bolt vs tapping the JB Weld repair for threads. The Heli coil should be securely locked into the repair with the JB Weld built up around the Heli Coil.
That said I would keep the bolt torque on the repair under 8 ft lbs. as a max, which is hand tight with a little tension.
