SOHC 1. I saw it and read reviews, started a non-harassing dialogue of my urgent need for transportation in the wee hours of the morning.  I got a reply by 9:00 am and arranged a ride to pick it up and was riding her home after noon.  Reviewers all loved these things, it is an '07, the last year imported to U.S.

The "good deal" was the type where the first guy there is bull#$%*ter or buys it. He even arranged to come down one beer coupon before I drove down to get it.

I see them around from time to time, even saw a couple of biker-looking guys riding a pair of them on the highway last year. I've been tempted to pick one up myself for relaxed 2-up rides.

What I see online  the reviews all seem to favor it, 'flatulent'  exhaust and all.  Honda Service guys say their customers have 80,000 miles with regular maintaining but no rebuild, and other youtubers say everybody with mc's needs a Helix. It is a longer wheel base than a HD road king. Yamaha and Suzuki are recommended over trying to make a Helix with more hp and bigger wheels. I say it doesn't get blown around any more than my "big" bikes, but cl450 is not really that big either [maybe 100 lbs. more]. It is longer than a road king.  It   A windscreen is new to me so I like that other than  you can't count on spitting without having it blow back at you.

And 6 gears! Or was it 5? My GF can't ride that home if I have one too many though...

Edit: 5spd. 51hp at the rear wheel, 41mm forks.
Likely some sportbikes bits can bolt on unnoticed. Cheap cartridge emulators for Harley 41mm forks are on eBay for about $50 too.
It's also on my affordable shortlist. I like long rides but I'll stay mostly on pavement, 2-up will be needed says she. I'm thinking toward my k8 for that though but who knows?

 Whike he was gone , a mouse, or maybe more than one took up residence inside the Tupperware.. of his Pacific Coast,.. and it was lets say .. a chore to get it out.. Cats found that  PC most interesting..

First overbore would make it 805cc, second would make it 810cc, no third offered. I've seen these listed for sale with nearly 100k miles on the clock, they keep ticking.

I've seen several pc's. one even came with a parts bike, but they all needed something. I am hoping that with 10,000 on the clock I've hoping for years if not a decade of turn key operation.

That's low mileage from what I see in the Northeast. PC800s with 50k miles for $1800 aren't uncommon. Helixes with 10k miles for $1800 are a steal though and far between. Maybe when I have fewer projects and a forever shop.... Fingers crossed this year!

I've eves said that this week, myself, but the deal was there for something that needs nothing but gas and an oil change for hopefully the next 5,000 plus miles.  So it is what I had to get. I've seen people ask  more for a pile of sh8 that was running when parked in 1983, just because it is 50 years old. No thanks for now got a few already.

Yep, I agree mate, stupid money for our CB750's now, the guys here in Oz are getting more excited every time a nice clean bike sells for silly money. That $51K that the diecast went for at Mecum was ridiculous, as was the $21K the K4 went for here last week. Fcuk that, I can buy many much better bikes for much less, hell, I only paid $2200 (AUD, say $1500 USD) for my VFR750 which is just bloody magnificent, and like your golf cart, it hasn't used anything but new tyres, fuel, oil, a filter and a battery. I just love that "anti-Scooter" quote.

I had to follow Spotty on his new (to him) Valkyrie over to Ace Motorcycles on Saturday morning so he could get Jeff to do the roadworthy inspection on it. While we were hanging out we spotted one of those monstrosities awaiting repair.

Apart from the obvious fugliness of the whole thing, we couldn’t get over how wide it was in the rear? I suppose the good thing about owning one is that it’ll never get stolen......

Today I saw two extremely large gentlemen in a Citroen 2CV. They seemed very pleased with their recent purchase. It idled at about 2500 rpm and positively crashed into 1st gear, every time they lurched off. Bounced down the road like a beach ball. I was laughing so hard I had to pull over..... “to each his own”. Or maybe “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”?

Terry.... when I was a small kid, my Mom took my sister and I back to visit Family in very northern Italy every summer. Until I got my first job on a Service Station, pumping gas for $1/hour at age 15. The only high light of these trips was a young cousin who had an older Moto Guzzi and occasionally took me for a rip on the back, and an older Aunt who used a Solex to ride to school every day (she taught summer school). I would often sit on the massive rear carrier and go off with her in the morning. All I had to do was have it back there by 3:00pm (and leave some gas in the tiny tank). I loved that thing!

Thanks John, I worked for two cousins (Bruno and Chris Antonello) at a gas station part time when I was in the Army, they were both from far northern Italy, and both married Austrian girls. They had blue eyes and blonde hair, and if I didn't hear them speaking Italian at times I wouldn't have picked them as Italians.

Great guys, and both were "rev-Heads", Bruno had a very rare Macintosh Suzuki GS1000, and Chris drove an "Aus-Car" (Aussie Nascar) and apparently was very good. I'm putting the covers back on the little Solex today including the little headlight and putting it on Ebay for my cuz, along with the other one for spares, hopefully now it's a runner it'll move pretty quickly, as I need the space, I have a mint 1978 Kawasaki KZ750 (US import) and a horrible MZ150 arriving on Sunday, the Kawasaki is a freebie, in payment to get the MZ up and running for my client at work.

I never had much time for those Kawasaki twins back in the day, but I've sold my Yamaha XS650 to my son who wants to turn it into a street tracker (best hing you can do with one, INHO) so I need another big vertical twin.

Thanks mate, the bloody Solex ignition crapped out today, so I'm pulling it apart to make one out of two to get the thing going nice and reliable, then I need to get it out of my place to make room for the horrible MZ150 that turns up on Sunday. I'm gonna take a couple of bikes over to the storage facility, maybe the K0 and the Harley? My steel garage isn't good in winter anyway, so they'll be better off in the new facility, and I'll have some room for the other projects.

Ha ha, I'm just assuming that by the time I'm in my 70's I won't be able to hold up a big bike Steve, but who knows, there might be some new miracle drug that'll give me the strength of a 20 year old again?

I'm constantly surprised, that in a country where everyone owns at least 2 guns, there is still such a high rate of bike thefts? But then again anyone who steals one of those golf carts probably isn't a big thinker.......
