1972 CB 750 K2 oil tank hoses
« on: May 08, 2021, 08:18:55 PM »
Likely covered before. I apologize. When I started refurbing my K2, it had the main oil lines but not the other two hoses. Can someone please tell me what these connect to? There is a small hose near the bottom of the inside side of the tank and a larger one near the top, also on the inside (toward the center of the bike). Where do these hook up? Is there somewhere where the engine or oil tank vents to the road or atmosphere?

The small hose is the drain from the oil/air separator in the tank, and connects to the spigot on the rear of the engine. The larger hose is the vent for the tank, and is open to atmosphere on the end. It's normally routed alongside the engine vent hose coming from the cam cover, and they both end near the swing-arm pivot on the right side.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
