Suppliers in Canada - List
« on: May 12, 2021, 11:46:18 AM »
I'd like to encourage Canadian forum members to add to this list of suppliers I'm creating here.

Finding Canadian suppliers of various parts is getting harder and harder. The cost of shipping from the US is absurd.

Please keep the description brief so it's easier to search through.

I'll start

http://www.bulbscanada.com/
Various hard to find light bulbs (like speedo and tach lights)

https://ebay.ca/usr/gumtwo
Canadian supplier of seat covers

https://www.clubplug.ca/
Spark plugs

Pete's Superbike out of Montreal for tires. They started the discount motorcycle tire business in Canada. I'm paying less for tires today than 15 years ago..

https://www.petes-superbike.com/index.php

Fortnine has good tire pricing. All Ball bearings as well. Free shipping after a $49 order.

Diablo Cycle for reproduction decals, limited line of Buchanans stainless spokes..

Here is an article on how to avoid the outrageous “brokerage” fees that UPS charges. Works well if you are close to a CBSA (Canadian Border Services) office.

Pacific Fasteners for any non- ferrous bolts and hardware. Not sure how their shipping works but they are the cheapest source that I have found. Excellent if your are in Toronto or Vancouver. Miles cheaper than Fastenal etc..

AFE Graphics.com

Check out this site. It’s well disguised, but Marc O., lives a few miles north of me and supplies most of the decals you see listed elsewhere. He’s just south of Lindsay, ON. There are no Honda products on the site because Honda chases down patent infringements (despite the fact they no longer supply these decals!). Check out “customers’ rides” and you’ll see lots of Hondas. Enquire and  Buy Canadian!

Herbrandt Gasket Company. Couple of guys in Cambridge Ont. See them on EBay or find their website. They make the finest gaskets, totally reusable and when I needed something for my Benelli SEI, they took the old one and made a perfect replica. Fantastic work, good people and ridiculously fair pricing! Give them a try. John D.

I've bought copper head gaskets for my 550 race engine from Cometic through Dynoman, but delays and prices are getting silly.

I’m still looking for their contact info, but I’m pretty sure they only made soft cover gaskets and some Kawasaki ex. manifold gaskets.

You've probably clicked on their ads and noticed the hard working stock girls. ;D

https://www.siriusconinc.com/

Here at the Old Honda Rescue Centre I get quite a few parts from Sirius Co Inc.  I like their bulk shipping (fill a Fed Ex box for $20 to the East Coast) and even other larger items are reasonable.  Some limited tire choices too.  They actually still had some stock when COVID seemed to bring other suppliers to a stand still.

Some of their stuff occasionally ships from their US affiliate but even so its still fast and duty free.

If I order a carb kit on Monday or Tuesday, I'll have it by the weekend.

Northern Winds Powder Coating.

Dave used to own a powder shop near Oshawa-Bowmanville. Retired and does outstanding work from his home shop south of Blackstock. Cash works best.He did the black lacquer on my Sandcast and it is superb. He also coated parts for me and did perfect work.

Clint at Ox Motorcycles in Winnipeg. I try and buy when I can from him as I know he is a very small and independent shop. He also lists some spare parts on eBay for sale and does some pretty cool fabrication work with custom bits to add to your Honda. Check him out

+1 for Wolfgang at Laverda Canada (aka Columbia Car and Cycle). I bought Ikons from him and he gave me recommendations for spring rates. Ikon shocks are excellent quality.

Tires from REVCO.ca in Quebec. 2-3 day delivery to Ontario and excellent pricing.

Update: the Continental tire I needed for the Varadero arrived in a few days. Free delivery and the price was almost 10% less than the usual vendors I use in Ontario!

Shipping a bike across Canada, or heavy box of parts? Check out Hasslefreeshipping.ca. Henry and his wife (or daughter) drive back and forth across the country, doing private deliveries. 1/2 the price of anyone else. He has his own schedule, so best to not be a RUSH shipment.

Today I spoke with Lyle Griffin, in the parts dept. of Schrader Honda in Yorkton, SK, Canada. (306)783-3333. He builds his own bikes, attached is a photo of his “off-road Ascot”. They have been open since the early 70’s and have lots of NOS parts! Very helpful, he had the emblems I needed for my K6 that are NLA from Honda! Check them out.

Ordered another zero maintenance battery for this project from Kapscomoto.com

At  $54 and free shipping via Canada Post, these seem to be a great deal. I’ve had one in my K1 for +4 years now. Don’t buy anything else from them but these.
