So I did a carb clean and rebuild and I had pictures and video as I took it apart...and they're all gone now. Luckily I remembered almost everything except for this spring in the pictures. These are KN carbs.

If you look at the pictures where I've circled, these are the spots I'm confused on. I believe I have the spring hooks in the right places, I'm not sure. Also, that one arm...not sure if that's the correct position. Any help greatly appreciated, I'm itching to get my bike running again so bad it hurts gents

Here you go with some pics of the area. Your in the deep end of the pool with these babies with no pics. Much more complicated than the early CB carb stuff. That small spring you have identified in in the wrong position with both ends of the spring off the correct mounting positions. The other spring off the fast idle/choke ramp lever is also off the correct mounting points.

Mike Nixon (motorcycleproject.com) did a video of this spring assembly for the CBX carbs, which are very similar to the VB44 carbs found on 81 & 82 CB650s:

Additionally, check out this DOHC CB750 carb cleaning guide (also extremely close to the CB650 CV carbs). On page 31, the instructions for reinstalling that spring are written out with a few pics to help.
