Ok,

This isn't a tip on how to work on your bike...   Instead it is a tip on how to use a free tool from Google to track stuff.

I'm getting ready to dive into a resto-cafe for my 78 CB 750f.  This means that I need parts and need to understand if I'm getting screwed on the cost of the part, especially when dealing with Ebay.

Since I'm not ready to dive in just yet but have been checking out the parts that I think I need here and there on the internet.  I want to track the part, price, quality, and vendor for the stuff that I see.  I also want to have access to this document from any computer I happen to be using at the time.

So I signed up for Google Docs & Spreadsheets and created a publicly available spreadsheet tracking the prices that I see.  Only I can edit this document but I can use it to share average costs with other SOHC geeks.

This will help me understand the market for parts better so that I won't feel like I'm getting hosed!  I know that a part is worth what someone will pay for it.  I just want to be paying within a reasonable range for the part.  I also know that any resto/cafe/rebuild will cost $$$ so I want to be as efficient with my $$$ as possible.
