Here's what things look like now.
Flange seems to be right, rear nut almost bottomed out, pedal touches the exhaust and pads just scraping the drum and not really braking the wheel. If I put the pedal in the next notch then the flange will hit the engine case with only about 1 cm travel.
Could it be that the rod is too long and maybe from a later model?
