Better gas mileage with 836 Wiseco?
« on: May 18, 2021, 10:47:04 PM »
Just did a rebuild on a low mileage 76 CB750F. 836 Wiseco, 125-65 Megacle cam and mild porting. Stock air box and exhaust. I always got decent gas mileage around 45 mpg, now averaging 50mpg. Am I just lucky or not driving the bike hard enough? Pulls like crazy over 7K..

Increased compression often results in increased combustion effeciency.
If it works good, it looks good...

I'm sure that longer distance riding +160kmh (+100mph) will increase the fuel consumption ;D

My K6 drank closer to 1 liter per 10km on autobahn with 2 persons, lots of luggage and seldom under 160kmh. Mostly 170-180kmh.  Stop for refuel every hour.
Reducing to 120-140kmh better to avoid  too frequent  stops. Riding slower took us longer quicker. ;D

I have not verified consumption on my K2 with K7 pistons that kicked up the compression and action to a healthier level.
Stock compression to handle crappy fuel in strange countries?

That 125-65 cam works very well with the 836 kit
