What have I bought?
« on: May 22, 2021, 03:48:50 AM »
Hi
I bought this during the week and I'm wondering if there's a back story to it and whether any one recognises it? It's got what looks to be one off mods to the swing arm and frame and having removed the head reveals an rebuilt (64mm bore, RC327 cam etc) but never run engine. I've never had a CB750 before so it's all new to me.

Cheers Kev

Welcome, looks like a great beginning for a low buy-in.
Is it difficult to obtain papers for bikes like this in the UK?

Perhaps ask about the history and frame mods over in the High Performance and Racing section? Those gents might have a valuable opinion.

Good luck.

Cheers- yes not planning on riding it this summer!
Not sure about registration. Frame and engine numbers are present so I’m hoping it’s possible to get it back on the road. I’ll try the other forum thread as suggested, thanks

If it has not run with the 64mm 812 kit and the 327 cam be sure to check the valve to piston clearance
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

At the moment it’s missing rocker arm and shafts but pistons have valve cut outs. I’ll have measure up when it’s time to put it back together. Ta

certainly looks like lots of race mods to me...swingarm is braced, top frame rail braced in a clever way to enable removal of valve cover with the engine in place...appears to have used many parts from fl2 model.
If it works good, it looks good...
